Nissan SPECV???

For some reason they aren't as fast as the numbers claim. 180 hp? yeah right, I had one want to play tonight and he just barely walked away on the highway. For my puny little Lx auto I figured he would have manhandled me, but non-the-less the faster car.

SCC dyno'd it and it only came in at 142 hp at the wheels. They were kinda disappointed in it.

Yeah... that's what they thought too. Everyone is playing the HP numbers game and it seems the dynos are telling a different story than what the manufacturers list the HP as !

perhaps said spec V was still in 6th gear?

Forget bolt-ons, that car would scream with valve springs, cams, and a reporgrammed ECU.

SCC is kinda stupid IMO.

and so is freeway racing.

its still a faster car than any stock civic, so I'll take it any day of the week over my ex. maybe.

i test drove one and it didnt like there was 175 hp under the hood. the 2001 VW golf GTI i drove felt a lot more faster and its only 150 hp. but the SE-R Spec V is faster than our civics.

The 2002 GTI 1.8T has 180hp. Test drove that the other day, and i have to say I might just buy one next month. Damn that thing pulls.

Pick up the April 02 issue of SCC... they have a dyno chart and full specs. Pretty nice car for the price. At least that's what they say
