homo throttle bodies

why do our throttle bodies have to be str8 up ? i knwo its got somethign to do with ulev but if there was a way to make them sideways liek the rest of the civics it would allow a lot more gain in hp from an intake james

try the search function...there are lots of posts about this stuff...but you're right it has to do with the ULEV..or so i've read...

Um... There are? I haven't noticed.

I don't think it's that big a problem. I would prefer it to be to the side too, but I guess there's enough room on there to work with. I'm planning on a custom turbo, so I'll probably be looking for pipe-work that will curve down under my strut bar and into the throttle body. Hopefully I'll be able to put something like this together.
