I will agree that the W16 design is LIKE 2 V8 engines together, but it is one engine in the 16.4
Also W engines are not completly rare: Audi is using them along with VW and maybe a few others.

Rep Power: 360 lol yeah, its basically derived from 2 V8 engines being put together. But there are modifications to the blocks that must be made for all 8 middle cylinders and in the bugatti its not exactly 2 V8s welded together. It was engineered as a W16 from the start so the design is only similiar to 2 V8s in theory. In practice I believe the W16 was more based off of the existing W12 Audi was using at the time.

Rep Power: 360 Actually it appears that the 2000 Audi Rosemeyer was a huge hint to the Veyron (W16 engine, same kinda styling). So Audi had a W16 engineered already when doing the Veyron, and I am assuming this engine was the platform used in the Veyron

I really am not a fan of the r32 or vw for that matter as the people down here in florida who drive vw's are the friends of the ones who drive the srt-4's.

Rep Power: 336 it is the same concept. like when they grafted 2 extra cylinders on the v8 from the dodge to make the viper motor. that was the literal prototype. 2 grafted cylinders to the already v8 motor. cool huh? i bet the prototype for the w16 motor was 2 v8s grafted together also
