Rep Power: 0 performance mods 7th gen Civic
How much can you hope to punch up the HP in an '03 to '05 Civic EX coupe by adding the cold-air intake, aheaderand catback? And does imake any sense to change the throttle body if you do nothing else to the engine internally? Also, what about achip? Is thereonethatgives you a little more punch without drastically changing the characteristics (easy starting, good mileage, etc.) of the engine.
Also, since I'm notbuying anything until this summer, I was wondering if I'd be better off with an RSX (not a Type-S)? Was thinking of changingthe exhaust system and adding the intake on it as well.

Rep Power: 228 hmmmmm...03,05,02,01 doesn't matter which yr..7th gen vics got the same engine. now interms of power you don't get a great outstanding leap unless u do a swap ((k series anyone??)) or turbo. if ur looking for some nice respectable gains.
nice idle on engine. aem pulleys
a few more hp to the wheels...aem camgears.
nice throttle response and high end gains...get aem v2 intake and a nice exhaust setup. whatever size tip that set's you on fire is ur choice.
greddy, apexi, tanabe, are just a few great names to look into.
or you can just get the rsx, much better car & already comes with a great amount of power, but not my style interms of looks.
whatever you decide Gluck.

Rep Power: 257 put it liike this....i got 163hp/160tq off a 1st time sprayin a 50 shot dyno run TODAY. That is with a rough tune...should get 10 more roughly....look at my profile....125hp with out juice...i got big brakes and wheels tho...more like 135-140 with stock steelies and brakes on NA, and 175 ish hp/tq on spray. That is without building the bottom end. stock my lx put down 95hp 90tq....to 135hp/128tq....with all mods and aboiut 4 hrs dyno tuning now. Take it as you will....I learned alot but i would not do this much on a soch engine again. go with intake, pullies, AXLE back exhaust, emanage, full exhaust if sprayin. and nitrous if you want a good kick to suprise someone with. These mods were the only engine mods worth it to me in hind sight. Just my $.02 otherwise strap on a turbo and enjoy.
