Torque Vs Horsepower

Just wondering what u guys would choose more torque or more horsepower

i was once a big fan of hp but neva realized how shietty it is to have a car wit low torque, Freakin Honda's suck for torque.

SO i choose to have torque over hp bc its raw power

I could be wrong here but don't you have to have both? I didn't think you can increase your torque without increasing HP and you can't increase your HP without increasing torque! Maybe I'm just not understanding the question

they are a direct dirivitive of each other. it would be more wise to look at vehicle weight and gearing when compairing Hp and torque figures.

Modest torque with Honda's yeah... and I got a few questions about that... (HP is mostly acceleration anyways, but like Joe said, it also depends on weight and gearing...) my questions are...

a) Is that why Hondas are more fuel efficient than their competition?

b) Is the VTEC is supposed to make up for it?

HP is essentially an imaginary number. I believe the forumla is something like..... HP = (Torque*RPM)/ 5250
