8th Gen Test Drive

So today a lady friend of mine came over with her new 06 ABP civic(non-Si) and she let me take it for a test drive. I didnt like it nearly as much as my 02 because it seems very high and bulky inside looking out compared to how my cars interior is and the steering is a little more tight too. Anyone else test drive one and not like it as much as their current vic? Next in line is test driving the RSX

milba has a little shameless behaviour in the past
i think its a hell of a lot better than my civic, the centerconsole looks cleaner, the dash is a whole lot better, they have a speaker in the steering wheel lol. in terms of the ride, its a lot better than my gli (australian spec non vtec) and right now if i trade in my 05 (which im planning to do) i only need to pay 2kAUS$ more to get it. but thats just me. australian civics suck

I test drove a 4dr EX AT... i felt the car handled great, and the ride was smooth. The dash felt alittle over done though... it was difficult to look at everything. And the steering wheel felt the same way. But i guess it just takes time to get used to it. It was really nice to just press a button, say "nearest gas station" and have it gives me directions though! The Navi they got is just awesome hands down.

My biggest dislike... was that the inside door handles were reverse... and it felt way to strange getting outta the car. Overall... i really like it.

actually, I think there's a slight ergonomic design on that handles. I do believe that the inside handles of 06 Civic is much easier to open since it follows the way my finger works...

I would not trade the si for vic unless I could imediately sell si. I would never drive the si, the fronts too damn small and the back looks real funny. The only 8th gens I can take are the mugens and they have a lot of work done to them. I just hate the small front end and that prius look they have added to the 8th gen, very biased.

The 8th gens are very comfortable in my opinion. Everything is very near and very easy to see how fast you are going with the speedometer up top on the dash. However the 7th gens are pretty hard to get used to. Armrest is too small to put much into the compartment and can get in the way of shifting. Sometimes I pull the armrest up because on somedays it doesn't feel comfortable.
As for the 8th gens I am still wondering why they are much smaller then our 7th gen coupes but weigh a heckuvalot more. It also has an enormous dash that seems be as long as the length of the hood. The new design is nice in some views but the side view makes it look like a Volkswagen unless you are sporting an HFP.

yea that dash just bulks out too much and makes me get the feeling im very distanced from the rest of the car. i actually liked the handles, they do go well with how u grab em to get out. also the windsheild wipers are like O SH*T! and theres soooo many buttons and lights all over digital pimpin
