pre-checkups at the dealership

I i'm going to the dealership tomorrow to check over the car and pick it up
what do you guys think i should look for when checking the car over what are
common things that dealers think people wont catch.......when doing a test drive on
it which i want to make sure i do before taking the car is there any think that i should
also test out ......
any test that you got send them to me tell me everything i should look for because i dont
want to have to pimp slap a dealer for playin with my ish.....might be young (19) but i will
deal with somebodys case who is trying to play around with me and my investments....

TIA!!

there will be nothing wrong with the car when you pick it up.......if there are going to problems, and the chances are slim with a honda, you'll find out after driving the car for a couple of days, then you take it back to the dealer and they'll fix it..........enjoy, your ride, and that 115 hp will surprise you, if you bought a 5-speed, a lot more fun than a focus or protege 5, and the potential for easy hp is pretty much only limited by how much $$$$ you got.......

make sure the key works for the trunck...the one over where the release for the gas tank is...mine has broken twice...second time my fault...
make sure the car is clean! I had lines of caked on dirt..very small but I needed a polishing compound to get them off. also make sure all electronics works.

one thing to keep in mind, its a lot cheaper to get accessories from handa-accessories.com and install them yourself than to get them from the dealer. thats what i did and i saved a few hundred dollars

Honestly, I cannot say anything bad about buying my Honda. I was looking for days, when finally it arrived at the dealership. A mint, Satin Silver, 5 Speed Coupe EX. It was perfect, all it needed was a quick wash to get the dust off. The dealership was so cool, they handed me the keys. I guess they figured they had my credit, my down payment, and my driver's license. I took that thing on a 30 minute test drive and fell in love.

THE only thing I would check is to see if it has ANY dents. Walk around the whole vehicle in the day time. I am not saying the dealer would try to rip you off, but dents do happen. If you notice it on the lot, they can cut you a deal, or make an appointment to fix it. But it will be way easier if you point this out before you sign. Hell, you can even still get another one at that point. Past that, excellent warranty, great reputation, and excellent workmanship, what is left to worry about except the monthly payment.

if you are trading something in, take out everything! if you have any aftermarket audio stuff, take it out. I had a Pioneer CD player in my old car and it didn't even cross my mind to take it out before I got to the dealership. They say they are adding it to the trade-in value, but they aren't really giving you anything. obviously personal belongings are cool like CD's and stuff like that. just make sure all that audio stuff is out. peace.

<< a lot more fun than a focus or protege 5 >>

The Protege 5 would've been my 2nd choice, after my EX coupe.

1973: Did you test drive the Protege5? I thought it actually handled and stuck to the road better than our cars.

Yeah check the interior to see if it's clean. When I went over to buy the car, they had this one black sedan with the headliner all dirty. I told them that I wanted the clean one that hadn't even had the white protective stuff taken off.

just look it over very closely. dont be afraid to question every little thing.

open the trunk and check the sides of the trunk lid. when i picked mine up there was paint chipped off of the trunk lid and both sides of the trunk. i pointed it out to them. they told me that when they transport the cars that it is not uncommon for them to chain them down so tight that it actually pulls in the sides of the car and that must have been what happened and caused the paint to chip. i had never heard of this. maybe it's a load of bunk. anyway they took it over and put some touch up on it. i told them i wanted it fixed right. they told me to bring it back in when i could leave it. which i did and they repainted it all and fixed it right. i believe they would have let me leave with out me forcing them to say they would fix it right.
