This sucks beyond compare! I just moved across the country back in December and shipped my car by rail.
I went to the ministry of transportation (ICBC) to find out what was required to get my drivers license and plates changed on the car.
They told me I have to get a vehicle inspection done which costs a little over $100 or more depending on what needs to be done (if anything) to get it to pass. So I went to one of the recommended inspection facilities to enquire further and found out that I not only have to get my OEM springs back on the car but I have to strip the fcukin' tint off the front windows as well
Apparantly they have a ZERO tollerance for tint on the driver and passenger windows...not even clear film is allowed...wtf?
thankfully the guy at this shop gave me the name and number for a place in town that on top of performing these inspections, also builds custom hot rods and have been known to let stuff like this pass....so here's hoping.
oh..and also, they devalue vehicles here from East of the province. I'm guessing because they don't have snow here so they aren't exposed to salt? who knows...my car is immaculate and I might still have to take a hit on it because it's from Ontario.
I love my tint...I don't want it taken off. I get mad stares all the time out here because it's so damn dark and yes, the cops hate it and probably don't ticket me because I have out of Province plates on my car

Damn that really sucks. I hate stupid laws that make it so you can't have the car the way you like it. No tint though... that sucks!
Good luck with the other inspection guy. I know when I lived in Massachusetts and had annual car inspections I had a Dodge daytona that was somewhat modded and it never, ever passed emissions so I would bring it to a childhood friend of my dad's that was able to pass it for me. =) Screw the environment my car was cool. lol
And wait a second, how does the inspection office know what the ride height is stock anyway? Maybe your "factory springs" are sagging a little. Nudge nudge, wink wink.

either way...if the tint has to come off, you can bet it's going right back on once I pass the inspection. I don't care how much they bother me. I see awsome cars around town with only back windows tinted and I hate it with a passion. I'd sooner not tint any of them if I can't have 'em all.

they measure it
I live in BC too, what u do is take the springs off and get ur inspection done, once it's done u put ur neuspeed springs back on...it's that simple...
if u get pulled over with them on, the cops won't even notice, unless ur maybe in richmond where they have different bylaws because of all the street racing/deaths that have happened there...it's just another way for them to try and prevent people from modding their cars and racing them... not that lowering the car has anything specifically to do with street racing but like I said it's just a street racing prevention thing...
