Rep Power: 0 Relocating license plate to windshield.......Legal???
I was wondering if it is LEGAL to relocate your front license plate to the inside of your car by the windshield.........I really wanna move the license plate off my beautiful bumper in order to give my car a clean look but my dad is being all up tight about this issue. If I move the license plate to the bottom right/left corner of my windshield, the plate is still gonna be visible and wouldn't be illegal....right???

Rep Power: 0 personally i think its stupid to have the plates inside the car. i understand your reasoning, but its also a good idea to have the plates inside the car so you can commit crimes. i mean who can see your plates at nightime if they are under your seat? hmmm muhahahaha

sigh...i live in California so i guess i have to leave the plate on . I was hoping that i could move the plate so i could give my black civic a cleaner look, plus, when i get my kit, i think the plate will ruin the looks of the car.....

Rep Power: 370 It would probably depend on state laws. Because I know a freind up here in MN, had his in his windshield, and got a fix it ticket for it, the cop said it has to be on the car up here.

Rep Power: 0 Hey man I'm in Cali and have always had my plate in my windshield. I've never been pulled over or ticketed for it. All they'd do is tell you to move it, or give you a fix-it ticket. I agree- it looks much cleaner up there too. Check the sig.

Rep Power: 0 I don't know about laws in Cali...but here in Indiana, I don't think anybody has two plates. I only have one, as well as everybody else in Scottsburg. I don't know about other cities, tho. That's one advantage to living in a hick state. No front plates to make your car look ugly!

Rep Power: 0 New York State requires that two license plates be visable on a motor vehicle at all times--one on the front bumper and one on the rear. Summonses can be issued for improper registration and failure to display a plate for absence of either. I would not try and put it in the front window--even if your state does not require a front bumper mounted license plate, a cop will not like it there and will summons you for obstructing a view. Check your states motor vehicle laws and if two plates are required, use two plates. If one rear plate is required, use the rear plate.

Rep Power: 0 LOL Yeah AZ has only one plate, too but I have Oregon plates so I don't have to worry. But either place I usually keep my other plate handy and put it up on the dash if I ever get pulled over in Oregon, most of the time they pull you over from behind anyway.
But my friends in Oregon have their 2 nd plate on the dash and they never have had any problems
