Honda's "Top Secret" Chicago Introduction Is Tomorrow

Well, I've just arrived in Chicago and Tuan will be arriving later this evening. This is in preparation for Honda's "top secret" World Introduction tomorrow at 3PM.
If you've been paying attention to the news section and our forums here for the last few months, the introduction is not a secret. We're not sure why Honda's trying to keep such a tight lid on it, but I guess it's to keep everybody wondering until the last minute. Over the past few days I've looked around the web and apparently we're the only folks who are aware of what's being shown, or the other outlets know but are being subjected to blackmail tactics to keep a lid on it.
We're going to do our best NOT to ruin the surprise for Honda - it's only 24 hours away, but if you look around here enough I'm sure you'll figure it out.
DING DING DING!! IT'S THE CIVIC SI SEDAN!!!
Looking at the lineup, there are only a few items of interest here otherwise. Lexus is launching the ES350, Toyota is debuting the new Tundra. On the domestic front there's a Dodge Nitro and Saturn Aura and maybe a few other things.
We do like the Windy City - sorry, Detroit but Chicago is a much nicer place to be, even if it's 20F with a bitter wind blowing.
Stay tuned for further updates.
this levels HONDA out the playing field for 4 door "rockets" against the other companies. this car would go up against the corolla XRS, sentra SE-R, mazdaspeed 3, ralliart lancer etc. I think honda is definately doing it's homework, first the SI coupe, now SI sedan. hopefully this one has red/clear tailights.
i would so consider buying one. now it's play and purpose at the same time.
Hey Honda welcome to the sports scene.
HONDA * * TOYOTA/NISSAN/MAZDA
bwuahahahaha

Rep Power: 322 I said this on TOV also, I don't know if its good or bad this time around, but the coupe and sedan have different wheel bases....
I'm glad we're getting a good sedan. I'm still a lil upset that it wasn't the CSX!!! Paddle shifters, hid's and leather come on.... so totally worth it... charge around 24k for that bad boy...

Honda Civic Si Sedan Concept Unveiled at Chicago Auto Show

Source: Honda Press Release
Credibility Rating: Not Specified
CHICAGO 02/08/2006 -- The Civic Si Sedan Concept is making its debut at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today.
The Civic Si Sedan Concept provides strong hints of the styling and performance for a production Civic Si Sedan scheduled to go on sale this fall, marking the first time that "Si" performance has become available in the Civic Sedan. Similar to the recently introduced Civic Si Coupe, the production Civic Si Sedan will serve as another performance leader for the Civic line-up with a 197-horsepower, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC engine with an 8,000 rpm redline, mated to a close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission. Helping to put all that power to the ground is a helical-type, limited slip differential for improved traction and cornering performance.
The Civic Si Sedan Concept features custom 18-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels, 225/40ZR18 high-performance tires, and 4-wheel disc brakes with large cross-drilled brake rotors and 4-piston Brembo calipers.
"The Civic Si Sedan Concept demonstrates how the high-performance attributes of the Civic Si Coupe can be directly applied to the functionality of a sedan," said John Mendel, senior vice president of American Honda.
A production vehicle based on the Civic Si Sedan Concept will go on sale this fall. The 2007 Civic Si Sedan will mark a further evolution of Civic Si's sixth generation alongside the Civic Si Coupe - and will be the first time a Civic Si is available in two body styles. The Civic Si first appeared in 1986 with subsequent Civic Si models appearing in 1989, 1992, 1999 and 2002.
The Civic Si Concept (coupe version) made its debut at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show, preceding the introduction of the all-new 2006 Civic Si, Civic Hybrid, Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe. The Civic Si Coupe and Civic Si Sedan will both complement the Civic lineup with features designed to appeal to true enthusiasts seeking a high level of performance and value.
The all-new 2006 Honda Civic has attracted a high level of acclaim, including Motor Trend magazine's prestigious 2006 Car of the Year award and the 2006 North American Car of the Year award.

Rep Power: 0 OMG nice!!!!!!! glad they kept USDM. i really like our front end and tailights better than our JDM counterpart. so is canada getting this SI? how will that affect the 155 hp csx? if they bring this sedan to canada, it will cannibalize the csx sales.

I've seen around 5... one already crashed into (hehehe!!! Stupid!!!... saw it yesterday, couldn't stop laughing!)
The coupe started rolling out in late december, early january.
I dunnoooo... it looks purdy strange from the side. I REALLY hope they lower that wing, as they did with the coupe Si concept.
