Rep Power: 0 Buying a honda civic HX 97
I might be buying a civic HX this saturday. It has AEM cold air intake, ground control suspension, 4" exhaust struts and 17" white rims with 130,000 miles for $3,000. People have been telling me that i should get a tranny swap cause the HX tranny blows and a engine swap. Just want to hear your guy's imput on the car. The first thing i want to do on the car is get a b16 or b18 vtec engine swap.

Rep Power: 0 Man thats a pretty sweet deal for 3000 buckaroos. The HXs arent all that bad, better than EXs if I'm not mistaken. 97 is a nice year as well. I raced an HX with a Tanabe Silver Racing Medallion Catback and it smoked the hell out of me. Look it up on kbb.com just to make sure, but I'd say thats a good price for that year and all that stuff. Go for it.

Rep Power: 0 HX engine and tranny are designed to achieve extraordinary gas mileage, you would love it. But if you dont give a **** about fuel economy, then go for an engine and tranny swap.

Rep Power: 0 All right, if this is gonna be your first car, I highly recommend this deal. Its not too expensive, it already has some modifications and if something breaks it wont be expensive to fix. I wouldn't recommend swaping the motor but if your gonna do it, I'd say go for a LS VTEC with a Type R tranny. Unless you can find better, Id ****** that car up.
