Honda Envy

My group of friends is into the honda thing....i have a buddy with a 2000 Prelude and another w/ a 91 Accord.....do you ever get Honda envy like me, when you ride with them and realize their car kicks the crap out of your brand new civic?.....my buddy with the 2000 prelude paid 16,500 and all it needed was new brake rotors and had 29,000 miles on it.....lucky. One night i went to the used Acura dealer just to see the 3.0's and integra's i could have bought for the same price as the Civic.

Nah...

I drove my friend's 97 GS-R... I love it... yes. But I love my Civic, too. I don't plan on racing it, and it's a 5-speed, but it's never too late to get a faster car. Just save up for another one, or sell the one you have if it'll make you happier to have something faster.

Accord Coupe? Man... V6 MANUAL would mean a hike in Accord sells but it looks like Honda wants to make them more luxurious.

well, to clear that up, i personally don't want a faster car to race with. I want a faster car so i can merge onto the highway without having to hit almost 5,000 rpm every time......don't go accusing ppl of 'racing to kill' so quickly, i just want power equivalent to my old '91 accord..is that too much to ask?

umm the only envy i have is for my buddys 97 turbo prelude...runnin mid 13's with it at this point. but i looove my car now becuase of how badass its coming out to look. i mean when youre on the highway goin 75 with the rest of the traffic, people have no clue how fast you ARE...they only know how fast you LOOK, and ive enjoyed getting the thumbs up from lots of people on the road lately.

If we all wanted just a fast car, we could all go out to a used car lot and get an old beat up 5.0 stang for a few hundred bucks and race hondas and win... so why don't we? Because our civics are so much better! Speed isn't why you should buy a civic unless you have a lot of money to spend on FI some day.
My car looks and sounds good even without a 12 second quarter mile...

Well, to answer your question, my civic was a gift for college, i wanted a slightly used accord or acura. But dear old dad wanted the lower APR and warranty with a fresh car..so i really can't complain that much. As far as merging, many of the onramps here are strategically placed on hills or inclines and i tend hit my peak HP outrunning the semi trucks who won't swich into the open lane next to them so i can get in. Somewhere near the time my civic is paid off, my dad wants to drive it and put a down payment on something else, so far i want an accord V6 coupe.
