and just wondering. On our 7thgens( I drive a dx model...) how is the vtec on the ex(si canadian). Can you actually hear it kick in and feel a difference, i ask because i hear people say vtec on our gens wasnt thst much of a difference compared to the model before ours

looks like the jdm eg cluster, iirc.
I'm guessing it's a built B16. Low torque, high revving = better for traction. In an EG, he'd have to run some pretty crazy tires to get traction with that power ... B18C's would just be trouble for gripping.
He probably floored it at 5000rpms so he could grab traction.

its really no different maybe a LITTLE more top end but seriously ive driven LXs and my EX and its so close its not even funny...

Rep Power: 475 you cant really hear the vtec kick in anyway, i have a vtec engage light and when it goes on you dont hear much, but i do have I/H/E so maybe thats why but i still think you cant really hear the vtec kick in

i have a 5 speed 05 ex se... The ex is very slow in automatic. mine is 5 spd and i pull away from any auto civic ive ran into. which may be the case in some of your experience in driving your girls lx. vtec or not, auto is slow (compared to 5 speed) The vtech does kicks in and you can hear the exhaust and maybe feel a tiny bit. that video waaaay over exadurates (i know thats spelled wrong) The speed is in Km/H. still is was fast. very fast. but like someone else said he wasnt on it until like 5000 rpm. and it went all the way to like 9000 or something. thats not stock.

well thats not a 7thgen civic and no d17 engine in there.
you never hear the vtec engage on a d17 if you would hear it
you would here it 2 times around 3000 and 5000rpm.
but it goes fast.

you can bearly hear it...and like it matters anyways.
