<< Focuskiller, mine are ICW 077Ms, lighter rims have a very good effect on lowering ETs because it decreases the rotational mass. Rims are where the weight is most important to lose because the more that has to turn, the slower its going to be. Which is the reason why most people with 17 or 18" wheels end up having worse ETs after they are done. You also want more sidewall for drag, 195/60 will get more flex then say 215/35/18. >>
Hey, what do you think of those rims as far as durability? Are they holding up to potholes and stuff. I am currently deciding between the Rota slipstream and konig helium/greenlights. Obviously, I am staying at 15in diameter. Did the light weight rims make any noticeable difference on the street?

<< Nope, 5 speed Ex Coupe. Here is my runs. also, no snow, its florida. I have about 250 lbs worth of audio in my trunk and will be taking it out for what will hopefully be a better run tomorrow.
Run#1
R/T - .990
60' - 3.071
330 - 8.151
1/8 - 12.047
1/4 - 18.156
MPH - 81.11
Run #2
R/T - .860
60' - 2.710
330 - 7.410
1/8 - 11.220
1/4 - 17.278
MPH - 81.67
Run #3
R/T - .542
60' - 2.751
330 - 7.394
1/8 - 11.155
1/4 - 17.148
MPH - 82.60
Car is totally stock with the exception of the audio and a DC Sports Short Shift Adaptor.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better run, and yes, I was having traction problems, I was giving it to much gas off the line and all the tires did was spin as is obvious from my 60' >>those are the worst 60' times ive seen in a while, and they are exactly why your running so slow. You SHOULD be getting lo 2 second 60' times. ANd do you know why you have such crappy times? Because you cant drive. You are obviously side stepping the clutch at WAY too high an RPM, when in reality you should be slipping the clutch instead to control wheel spin while keeping the engine in its peak powerband. learn to drive and youll shave at least a full second off your ET> better then pretty much any performance mod you can buy.
damn dude pull that stuff outta your trunk! i ran my car for the first time ever last night (auto coupe) and i have the full bc fiberglass kit on and ran a 7.1 at 80 mph with a .7 reaction time as my second and last run of the night. all i have really is injen intake and i shortened the throttle cable and bypassed the heater. it was a 17.1 but i think it was the funnest thing ive ever done still!

joe thank you for being such a smartass... and don't you have somewhere else to be? You don't even own a new civic and haven't been contributing much to the forums anymore

oh cry me a fucking river. Based on all available data, the reason why hes so slow is because hes getting god awful launches. IE hes a BAD DRIVER. Let us also forget the fact that I included some advice to correct the situation shall we?

<< bypassed the heater? >>
I think he's referring to the throttle body heater. There is such a thing and you can turn it off so that the intake charge is slightly warmer. There's a DIY up for this as well in the Tech Stuff forum in the thread entitled Mega DIY Thread.
yeah i have the ex, i dont even know if thats a good time or not for it, plus i always shift with the auto when i race (i gotta do with what i have). but i thought it was descent since i had an extra 100 pounds at least. and yeah bypass the throttle body heater, basically theres a heater right next to it that keeps it heated so it doesnt get frozen shut or open. there a DIY on it and it takes about 5 minutes to do, real easy. that way its pretty much nothing but even colder air going into it. i mean i probably only decreased my time by like .5 seconds or less but i needed all the hep i could get.
hahah and i assume everyone realises i meant a 17.1, not a 7.1...i just caught that!

warmer intake charge would decrease performance.

Joe - One, thanks for being a smartass. Two, I have been practicing, and have gotten it down to a personal best of 16.7. Three- I haven't been able to run lately because my tires are bald and I am waiting on my rims and tires to come in.
Andrew - Thanks for sticking up for me when I didn't see this post.
