Suggestions - EM2 to EVO
I am about to get a raise in the next 3 weeks. I want to trade in my 02 EX CPE for an 03 Evo with about 32k miles on it. I have been watching this car at my dealer now and am just waiting on how big of a raise ill be receiving. I still owe about $1900 on my civic and have about $1000 saved in just excess cash. I am wondering if I should just go in to the dealer and trade in my civic with the amount that I still owe or should I pay the civic off first and sell to a private party? I know you usually get more from a private party, but I want an EVO so bad. My budget will be around $25,000 and will probably be borrowing around $15,000.
My questions are is it really worth the wait/hassle of selling to a private party?
If i go to the dealer how much can I expect for my civic?
Is there any other things that I should know before doing this?
I had to swap my motor at 30,000 miles but had swapped it with a new D17A2 motor which was done by the factory. So my body has 62,000 miles on it while my motor has around 32,000. And I only have a few marks/blemishes on my front bumper other wise the interior and exterior are in great condition.
Thanks for the help in advance.

well if you don't have the money or you don't want to hassle then is it really worth it? Can you live without an Evo? Its not really a necessary thing to go on with life, so its really up to you. thats what you need to ask. And if you have doubts about it then i wouldn't get it. It is a sweet car though. I think you could expect about 8000 to 10000 for your civic maybe i am not to sure

ya i went to KBB.com, and it said $10,900 for my civic for a private seller. Would i have to list the mileage as being 32,000 miles or 62,000 miles since i have swapped the motor? And as of right now i just have friends with benefits not really a girl i am going to "settle down with". Also i got this civic brand new in 02, and had to borrow $10,000 from Honda Financing with $6,000 down payment, so $15,000 of debt wouldnt really be new to me. I am just lookin for something with a little more *****. If you guys have suggestions on other cars let me know ill take a look in to that as well.
if i was in the same situtation i'd keep the civic. unless im getting a raise for 20k more a year. id rather save the money for something else like a house maybe. but hey...thats me. goodluck to you!
