I think they've been losing money for a while, so going futher into the red won't hurt.
Hemi! Hemi! Hemi! That is what they're selling, but everything else needs a serious updating. DCX needs a lot of things... I'm pretty sure even Mercedes is losing money. They need higher quality cars and a better range of cars.

Its a $26xx gas allowance. I personally think its a quick fix for an oil driven economy. This is just going to make people less concious of the environment and the shortage of oil. It also just covers the fact that they are super unefficent cars when it comes to mpg.

IIRC, chrysler was making profit, while mercedes was losing money.
Whatever chrysler is doing, it seems to be working for them. They're the most profitable out of the Big Detroit 3 i believe.

they're just offering incentives to sell cars.. i doubt they're trying to hide the oil shortage.. but it does make sense that people wouldnt notice the mpg as much if they're not paying at the pump.
Its no different than offering $2500-$5000 cash back or some other rebate. Just another sales tactic. I don't think it indicates they are any more desperate. Just switching incentive strategies.

Automakers only have two options when it comes to profits - make a lot or lose a lot. They don't make minor profits. If they make anything, we're talking billions. If they lose anything, we're talking billions. Chrysler is doing fine. The 300 is one of the best car launches in a good while.
GM (except for the C6) on the other hand...

you will need the maintenance plan with a chrylser trust that.....but you have to remember its all an incentive in the ends...no price changes...the gas is broken down out of the original proce of the car in the ends you're still paying full price for the car...you're just pre-paying for gas.....
and as for the maintenance....well, let's just say, its called wear and tear for a reason, the dealer wears you out with jargon about how its not covered under the warranty, but they'll offer you a 'lower' price, and make you tear out your wallet every time you break down...

If you made this thread about GM, I'd agree with you more - their cars actually are shitty. I think the 300 is a nice car (it is heavily influenced by Mercedes...), and regardless of what I think, the fact stands that it's had one of the most successful auto launches in a long while.
Eh, whatever though. I'm more of a BMW fan than Mercedes, but I don't even like the E90 3-series.

I don't understand what went wrong with that car. I find the SRT-6 version gorgeous.

Its just another "discount" they do, its basically like getting $3k off instead of saying "take $3k off the sticker"
id take a 300c and pimp it out. yesterday at target i saw a tyco pimped 300c rc car, it was 1/8 scale with, blue headlights, spinners, tinted windows, speakers and an audio input for your mp3/cd player. stick my ipod with some rap music and roll around the playground, show them 10 year olds whose the coolest kid on the block.
