Hell the RX-8 drives more similarly to the Miata than the S2K does.

ive driven all three generations, and the nc (2006) is by far the most refined. the na is just raw and pure, the nb is a little cleaner, the interior is more roomy, but its still a bare bones driving feel. the nc is smoother, softer, more "elegant"...but all three handle like they are on rails.
i got myself an nb...i just liked the styling more and wanted a newer model. but i gotta tell you, for the first 6 months at least that car scared me. you can throw it around corners as much and as hard as you want and chances are you will still not reach its limitations. that car handles like its on rails and it is absolutely a whole different driving experience from anything else ive driven.
i cant comment on the s2k because i havent driven one yet...but dont underestimate the miata just because its got 170-180hp to the s2k's 240...
