I forgot...unless you've got tiny hands forget changing the oil in a miata (I dunno if they changed the position of it or not) or buy a relocation kit if they sell them...that filter is under the mani and there is like 3 inch clearence and then no room to grip the filter whatsoever. grr.......

I do know that you don't generally mess with boosted Miatas though and that they -can- take it, at least according to Flyin' Miata: http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/dyno.asp

i have a question for those guys that dont like miatas............ have u even driven one before??? or are u guys just saying that, cause u dont like the way it looks??
for the guys who say they'd take the miata over the s2k i wanna ask...WHY!? you just say aww naw dude miata owns. period.
WTF?
I'd take the s2k over the miata, i'm sorry MX-5, because
s2k vs miata
S2k: 240hp stock, with a N/A engine
MX-5: 170 stock with a Turbo already!?
It seems like it should be making more efficient power than that. I mean the RSX type S puts over a perfect 200hp at the crank with 2000cc of displacement stock.

Hey, the Mazdaspeed Miata with turbo is at a low pressure and is putting out 180. The new Miata puts out 180 N/A. The Miata engine is pretty robust and can take alot of boost and can make alot of power. The first gen Miata's have the N/A version of the old 323 GTX engine. Now if anyone knows their stuff, the 323 GTX was the EVO of the late 80's early 90's.
Would I rather own an S2K than a Miata? Well I do like the F20C a whole lot. Hell I own one. But here's the thing you have to remember. The Miata single handedly revived the roadster. From the 70's until 1989 when Mazda released the Miata, roadsters were dead. Only the die hards kept their old MG's, Spitfires, Lotus, etc. When Mazda reinvented the roadster with the Miata, they started a new craze that brought us the Audi TT, S2K, Z3, Z4, Boxster, the list goes on and on.
Oh yeah, and the Miata weighs less than 2200 pounds. The S2K is quite a bit heavier at 2835. The drive feel of the Miata can't be beaten. It is THE most nimble car I have ever driven. It's steering response, chassis feedback, control, everything. The car is more than numbers, it's more about feel, and being an extension of the drivers thoughts. The S2K is fun, but braking, steering response, feedback, and overall feel doesn't match it. Hell the RX-8 drives more similarly to the Miata than the S2K does.
I bought an S2K yes, but I am a die hard Miata fan. If there's anything Mazda can do better than most its driver feel.
