Window Tints - dealer a good place to go?
Window Tints - dealer a good place to go?
Was wanting to get window tints for my new (used) '04 EX Coupe. The dealer said they would do it for $199. Is this the best place to go, or is there somewhere else that might be a better place to go and will do it cheaper?
I am new to this, I've had cars with tints but I've never put them on. My car is silver, should I go ahead and get the "smoke" colored tints or would the blue-shaded tints look better? I want them fairly dark, but I don't want my windows totally blacked out or anything. Should I go with something like a 10% tint? (forgive me if that is the wrong terminology). I live in Florida, not sure on the laws or anything like that here.
Also, do people tint the door windows lighter than the back windows? If so, what percentage should I get in the back, compared to the front? Also, do people tint their windshields? I wasn't sure that was legal or not. Do you just leave the windshield alone?
Thanks for your help beforehand, like I said I don't have a clue with this.

I went to a local audio/visual place paid 170 total and the guy did it perfectly. the man does it for a living and had a lot of experience. look around I'm guessing the guys at the dealershit won't put effort like many things they do.
honestly its your choice how dark you want it as long as its legal. I went with the same percent for the back and side windows. the only thing that is usually tinted a lot darker is the front strip at the top of your front windshield. if i had the option to tint my front windshield i would jump on it.
i got a 35% (legal limit) but if you can go darker like 40 or 45%. (i dont like people seeing my sexiness)

I'm sure u can find other places for less than 200 with lifetime warranty
I'm pretty sure Florida law doesn't give a dxxx how dark u go with ur tint
but since u dun want it too dark, 20% all around should be good for you
my friend has done it on her accord coupe, it looks pretty good , not TOO dark, not so light
people usually don't tint the front windshield but u can give a try ?

dealers wont do illegal tint. like i have 15% all around thats VERY illegeal in NY, im not allowed the two front windows to be tinted at all. a dealer here will only do my rear quaters and my rear window. and in my opinion looks like poop. im going to get my windsheild done at 35%... dealers cant do that either lol

I work at a dealership here. When someone wants their windows tinted, we sublet it out and get a discounted price for the customers. That's how we do tinting.

Just look for local Tint shop for cheaper prices.
I paid 165 with lifetime warranty.
20% is dark at night, I would just go with 35% all around, except front windshield.
