Question on bare metal clear coating
Question on bare metal clear coating
I have Diamond Clear, Gloss Clear for bare metal surfaces (part #10200Z) I bought from Eastwood.com. I refinished my rims and painted them black. I have a bare metal clear coat for the lips but I can't tape off the painted part because of the contour of the rims. Will it ruin the paint if contact occurs? I can cover most of the painted part, but the edge by the lips I can't cover. Short of painting a piece of metal and testing it (time consuming) or just using clear coat for paint.....anybody have any suggestions?

it may be time consuming, but its better to test it before you put it on for good. Wouldnt you rather take your time and findout for sure, than coat it and it turnout to look like ****?
well it depends on what kind of paint you used on the rims and what type of clear you have. is the clear a laquer or acrylic? did you just use wheel paint on the rims? car paint? powercoat? all that matters.
