no more modding?
well, the thing is, my parents have decided to sell my car and get a SUV....A GOD DAM SUV WHEN GAS PRICES ARE THIS HIGH. their selling my pride n joy...and just right now as he walked by me and saw me looking at my bank account and looking at Tein SS's he put 2+2 together and straight out said hell no. so the situation is this, im feelin down as hell and i dont know what to do. either i go ahead and buy them right now and shove it in their face OR just let them sell my car, which is not even a year old and has only 8500 miles on it... any on else stop modding b/c of their parents? well, this has just destroyed my day and i dont even think i can even start up on my midterm paper...i guess ill just crank up the trance n fall sleep...

yeah i know how you feel. my rents ride my *** all the time about buyin new parts for the car. they found my stash of OEM parts in our shed this weekend and wanted to know what each thing was. They crackin down hard after i dropped a grand for rims and tires, but you can always find ways to get **** behind theier backs
real question is, who bought the car?
if your parents bought it, then its their choice what they want to do with it. they're letting you "borrow" it so to say. but if you bought it with your own money, tell them to eat a ****.

haha same thing with me, they saw the pile of oem crap in the basement (they never go in the basement) and they started, well mostly my mom, ripping on me about wasting my money. But i just told them look.....Im in University with good grades, paying my OWN way thru school and modding, I dont do drugs or am in a gang, I dont have a pregnant girlfriend and that this is the only thing that keeps me on track. Since then they have been pretty good with it and i took over the car payments and when i graduate, the car is mine.

how could you let your parents sell YOUR CAR?
my parents aren't really down with me pissing away $1000's on my car, but they know its my money, so they go along with it

but anyways, my parent's don't mind my modding...i usually just explain to them how it helps the car, and inform them that the parts are better than the stock ones, and sometimes cheaper. When I do the modding (put it on the car), i usually do it while they're away, just cause they don't really care to see the car in pieces, even though they like the result!
(my dad's slowly working up to letting me do a few things on his 02 accord ex!!!) he doesn't like how bright the cruise light 'on' light is (the green one). so he's going to let me 'dim' it for him. i'm just thinking of taking a sharpie to the other side of that plastic piece (if you've taken your switches apart before, you know what i'm talking about)

parents pay for car...i buy the mods as long as i have the money to get them but it's mostly really their money for everything.mom doesn't know or care as long as she gets around.dad doesn't car as long as i don't break the car or he doesn't have to pay alot for the mod.so basicly all my money goes to modding!
don't be upset

The feelins is a bit worth when you understand that life is not as beautiful, and car is just an accessory, a transportation. Sometimes life situation would even force you to buy a used ugly KIA or Hyundai.

it sux
well, they paid for the car...fully paid it off at once w/ cash so its theirs. but the thing is, i was into modding before and asked them to let me buy a older, used car lika eg hatch or something like that. but then they suprised me w/ this bangin silver EM2. but the thing is, when i told them i was gonna mod it up, they werent too happy about it. i mean, they KNEW i was gonna mod any car i got (thank god it wasnt a corolla...)but they went ahead and told me straight up that i couldnt. i mean, im grateful and stuff but man, this is the only thing that keeps me in line and they know it. but yea, its theirs and they're basically letting me "borrow" it. but i dont get why they want to sell it after only one year for a SUV...but man, like i said, this whole situation is really getting me down and i really have nowhere to turn but 7thgen... thanks for the support fellas
btw, the money i put into it is mine of course. and age wise im 18...

oh and bout them gettin a SUV, we already have a minivan and my dads gettin kinda old...(62) so he likes the high rides and so does my mom, (45). but i guess they're coming to the age where they need to climb up a vehicle or else they wont be able to climb out of one...
oh well, all parents are like that, just accept it. even if i bought my own car, use my own money, they gona say i'm wastin money and etc. but as long as i'm sastified, i don't care, they are just being parents. dude don't be suprised next time you say the same things as your parents did to you haha

at first my parents said that i couldn't mod the car at all. the thing is that they co-signed for the car, but up till now, the only thing that i haven't paid for is a tank or two of gas. so they dont really care much anymore, i have learned a lot about the car, so if i break something by modding, i can fix it myself. pretty much now its just they dont like me spending the money, and say i should save it rather than spend it all on the car. but they dont care when i mod stuff.
Hey, you should be happy your parents can afford to buy you a brand new car instead of financing it with no money down and leaving you with the bill for the next five years ----> ME.
