Here comes the next generation...
Taken from this link:
http://www.autonet.ca/Spotlight/NewM...5/1249841.html
Acura announced that it will be bringing an entry level luxury compact sedan exclusively to the Canadian market later in the fall of 2005 and the new vehicle will be called the CSX.
The new performance-minded sedan will feature a 155-horsepower, 2.0-litre DOHC engine, which combines V-TEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) with VTC (Variable Timing Control) for the i-VTEC system which helps improve fuel economy and cut down on emissions.
The suspension has been tweaked for a more sporty feel. The CSX will feature drive-by-wire throttle control, 4-wheel disc brakes and a speed-sensitive electric power steering (EPD) system for sporty driving performance.
Acura says that the vehicle will feature 'a full complement of standard safety features, including the new Advanced Compatibility Engineered (ACE) body structure for enhanced safety in a frontal collision with a vehicle of differing size.'
No pricing has been announced yet, but should become available soon.

155 HP? Am I going nuts or are they trying to confuse the aftermarket scene again?
I mean the 8th gens would be 140 HP while the SI is 197 HP .. so is it going to be three completely new engines - unlike the 7th gens ??

To tell you the truth, hot as the new CSX/EL will probably be, I'm not all that interested. It's weird really, considering how much time and money I've spent working on and getting to know the 1.6 and 1.7 EL's. But I'm in the next phase of my life now, and while I still want to play around with cars, I'm looking at something in a whole other class of power and/or luxury. I figure I'm climbing the corporate ladder now, my car shouldn't be one that is easily riced out. I mean seriously last week I had to turn down a sweet deal of a parking spot in my office's underground cause I don't want them seeing my car.

The graphics, while definitely very eye-catching (and not always in a good way), are not the problem. The problem really IS the whole car. I mean, even with the graphics off, can you see me climbing out of it in a suit and tie? I can't. I love er to death, but it's so hard nowadays to justify the amount of money I'm spending on a car that is so slow. I'll just get a TSX eventually I guess.
