I see old people (driving 7th Gen Civics)

This is something that I can't figure out: Based on the ages of people on the site I figured that 18-25 (plus or minus a few years) would be the typical age of a 7th Gen Civic owner. But then every time that I see a 2k1 or 2k2 Civic on the road I see that it's someone in their 50's, 60's, or 70's (with the sedans at least, not so much with the coupes). What is up with that? Where are all the young people driving the new Civics? With the older generations of Civics I always see younger people. Does anyone else notice this where they are? Maybe it's a Massachusetts thing.

Honda = economy car thus older people drive them. You make it seem that everyone who has a 7th gen civic is a member on this site LOL! Nopers, I see more older people driving the new civics than younger...

I just think it is funny when I see old people driving a 7th gen with 99-00 Si(R) rims...
I have seen at least 10 like that here in Tucson, all driven by people 40+...

Hey man I got that same problem here in central California. I drive a Silver LX Sedan and when ever I see another 7th gen. sedan 90% of the time it is an old person driving! I've only seen 1 younger person driving a sedan in my area. What's up with that?!?!?!?

Do you ever see an older person driving a coupe, or is it always a sedan? I don't see too many 7th Gen coupes around here but when I do it's always someone young.

i think the avg age on this site is younger b/c the younger people are the ones interested in modding their cars and making them fun. i see tons of old people out there driving them that are obviously not members of this site because they bought the car for what it made: economy. but i'm glad we have the site to have fun with each other! i've learned so much from this place since i found it.

Tell you why. Us young people spend more time jerking around with mods in our garage, then actually driving our cars

In my area, my observation has been that most people driving 7th gen civics are in the 35-45 year old range.....and yes, I have seen a decent number of seniors in them too.

its the same around here, old people driving sedans, younger people driving coupes. seeing a coupe is still rare around here, but sedans are everywhere.

I was thinking that when I wrote the title. That's why I put "driving 7th Gen Civics" in parantheses.

I'd say after retirement age (65 or so). When you can start getting senior citizen discounts then I think it's safe to say that you've entered old age territory.

HEY DUDE, I'M 40!!!! I've got a black EX Coupe DC Sport Header, Thermal R&D rear section, 17" Konig's and I am in the process of installing GC coilovers and Koni's all the way around. I am a Harley riding sonofabeech and I love my Civic. Had a turbo SVO and a couple of other nice scoots but this Civic is a keeper!!!

Jes coz I'm old don't mean I can't have fun!!! I borry CD's from my 16 year old daughter "and then I got high" . She likes to cruise with the old man but ifn you start looking at her with that goofy smile and then lustfull eyes I'm gonna kick yer ***.

Way to go TAZZ! 40's not old, especially when you're as young at heart as you sound.

Now if only those 80 year old women I see driving Gen7 Civics would follow your example and beef up their cars..... Then again, a grandma with turbo could be a dangerous thing!

MY friends dis me and say that I am having some kind of crisis but screw them. I see it this way;

When I was 17 I had a Hemi "Cuda and I did what I could afford to make it better. It was wild and outragious but that was then. You guys are young and there ain't many small block Chevy's with Headers and Crager mags and cheap parts like we had 25 years ago. You are just using what's available and I applaud that.

MY buds start raggin on those stupid Honda and how they sound like crap and I stop and say hey a$$hole get wit da program.

I go to WalMart and park with youngins when they get together there. I talk and listen and get the scoop on not only whats happening but I get the info on parts and tricks ways to mod the car.

I'm here to tell you you don't have to grow old when you grow up. Old sucks and a lot of my so called friends got OLD way to quick. Have fun, be young just don't hurt or get hurt!

Peace

Know what my motto is? "I don't wanna grow up...." LoL
And it holds tru when it comes to the whole modding cars thing. Think it's a nice hobby.
