Drove an 06 4-door today - Mixed bag
I drove a black 06 LX 4-door today. It was a 5sp-auto.. someone else was taking out the 5-speed manual. Wow, what a huge change. Anyhow, While the car is nice I think it has pluses and minues compared to my 05 SE. Just my humble opinons... don't take my word for it... you obviously need to drive one yourself to see how you feel
pluses:
- a stronger engine.. felt almost like a very small 6 (but not really) ... hard to explain.. total different character.. more torquey. Didn't get a chance to floor it.. didn't want to disrepect a new car i wasn't going to buy.
- nice back end of car.
- ride was somewhat smoother, less bouncy.
- seems more stiff in the corners, and quicker steering and less body roll.
- doors shut very nice. More like a honda should ! Very nice.
- decent Turanza tires and 16"!!
minues:
- that digital dash was so so - reminded me of that 84 firebird I drove once.
- the dash itself was really far away from you and that slope on the window is STEEP. Not as open of a feeling you get in the 7th Gen (which I really like)
- the seat position and the position of armrest just didn't fit me like my 7thgen.
- didn't care for front end as much... I guess it will grow on me.
- I personlly didn't like the seats as well, they are cool looking though.
- I didn't like the door panels inside as much.
- the engine bay is TINY.
- personally didn't like steering wheel.
It's a nice car but probably not for me.
Have a great day !

Yeah do drive one. All I can say is that driving an 06 made me like my 05 that much more. I just felt more comforatable in mine. It's doubtless that many will like the new one. There are some nice improvements. To each his own
My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

I like the dash. I can see the speed of the car without taking my eyes off the road
I think the seats are HUGE improvment over the 7thgen's. My finace I couldn't set in either of our cars for more than an hour without getting back pain.
But those are just opinion stuff, and we each have our own
I do agree about the front of the car, I think it looks like it hit a brick wall and got smashed.
