Do you guys think that the 2006 civic Hybrid will get better mileage than
current Prius? i know that the Prius does qualify for a single driver carpool
sticker but do you guys think that the 06 civic hybrid would qualify in Ca
to get the single carpool sticker?

Rep Power: 787 ha yea I could never go 55 cause most people go 75 and I'd really be risking an accident. But yea 55 was originally set because of the good mileage. Don't know why they raised it.

Rep Power: 375 what are you people on? the civic hybrid has always done better on gas mileage than the prius. real world drivers in hybrid civics get around the 60-65mpg mark. on long trips i've seen over 105mpg driving all freeway.
not to mention the 06 hybrid has INCREASED that fuel efficiency by another 5% as well as increased power output by 20%.
i've also looked into the prius as me and my fiancee have been deciding on a hybrid vehicle for her. the prius can't even compare. the only reason the prius is more popular is because of styling and toyota's marketing campaign.

Rep Power: 295 the EPA doesn't know how to give estimates, they are just ballpark estimates. They say my GSR get 24/31, yet almost everybody I know with a GSR gets at least low 30's, some get into the 40's when they grandma it. Samehting with my truck. Part of the problem is that they always take the intial MPG reading with a brand new car. Honda's really don't get broke in and get the real good MPG untill they are broke in. All my new Honda's tend to see about a 25-35% increase somewhere around 12,000-15,000 miles. Don't trust the EPA, specially with Honda's.
