what is the best rpm to start off at when racing to minimize peeling out too much while maintaining a fast start with a 5-spd civic lx?

I like to drop the clutch between 2 and 2 and 2.5 rpms. When I do that I can usually beat corvettes, Ferraris, and Porsches.

2500 when racing, otherwise you stand there and look like an *** spinning your tires while he's getting ahead of you.

I NEVER dump my clutch.. with our cars you risk te evil bounce WAY too much with clutch Dumping.. I prefer the good ole fashioned Clutch wear technique.. Hell I ran under 17 seconds with a weighed down DX Sedan Okay so it was .013 thousandths under 17..but hey...

Cheers

Rev it until fuel cut off...then drop it...burnouts are cool!

i guess it most likely depends on your tires too... if u got wider tires then u can dump it at higher rpms like 3000-4000, if u still running on stock firestones, i dunno about that one, maybe 2500-3000 is ok... don't do it too much though, you mess up your clutch and tranny
