Vtec V8?!
did anyone see the video of the guy explaining how the vtec on his mustang stood for very tall engine coolant and the different colors of coolant meant how much horse power you would gain.

I have a VTEC V8.... no really I do. The 5.4L engine in the F150 has ford version of VTEC, called ZTEC. Personally it doesn't seem to do much other than make the engine have this loud ticking noise at idle. But that eninge is new in 2004, and thats a mid 90's mustang, and to from little I know about mustangs, none of them have the VTEC crap.

I was under the impression that ZETEC and VTEC are not the same thing. VTEC has to do w. valve timing whereas ZETEC (ZTEC? sp?) is just the engine model/name.
I mean, if ZTEC were an acronym, what the hell would the Z stand for?

Vortech engines are in trucks. Vortech Superchargers are made by a seperate company that is not directly associated with GM, they make superchargers the B16A's too along with most Mustangs and other V8's. Veyr well known supercharger company in the V8 arena. My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

ZETEC is a motor type, I know I have the 3 valve 5.4L triton with continously variable valve timing, I thought it was called ZTEC, but I just found something that called it InTech, I doun't know what it's called but it's Ford's equvilant to VTEC, that I know.
