jzuha01's thread
The pictures he posted were intial release packets that the public will never see. While it listed an SOHC ivtec engine, this can be a typo (often happens in these packets since they are NOT official spec releases) or are not necessarily the final specs. At the same hand, it is possible that he's right, but we won't know until it's made official.
The thread had to be removed, otherwise we could be harassed by American Honda Coporate for having the thread up.
By the way, your friend did something quite illegal, and he could very likely lose his job if anyone got a screen shot or evidence of the pictures posted. Not a smooth move considering the information is considered not for public release and comes with hefty fines for the dealership who breaks the gag order, so to speak.
We had a dealership do something similar on s2ki.com when the new odyssey came out. American Honda contacted the owner of s2ki.com demanding removal of the thread. The dealership was slapped with massive fines.
Your friend will be lucky if he gets to keep his job.

no no. he posted the initial information packet which is not supposed to be released to the general public. and while it does say sohc Si, again that does or doesn't mean it's necessarily true.
from what I remember, when the 04 S2000 packets came out, they said the S2000 had TCS when they didn't. They also listed the engine as a 2.3 liter, when it was actually 2.2.
just to give you an idea of how the fine details of these packets given to dealers may or may not be accurate.
so in other words, the kid's got a 50/50 chance of being right.

for majinB, the 2006 si motor has already been said its a NEW motor not something pulled form a pre-existent car.
as for the womanly arguing about s2kman, hes very knowledgeable. hes proved many people wrong but hes no ghandi, you guys cant tell him hes wrong and he cant tell you your wrong.......nobody knows yet. and yes the thingy u posted was from honda blah blah. car manufacturers are always saying one thing and last minute changing it. youll have to wait like the rest of us non-supernatural humans who cant see into the future (which is only a few months away anyway, and im sure in a couple months when the base models are out they will release all the SI info along with them to create as much last minute hype as possible.)
to you all for being so concerend about the 06 si.
oh and btw, the si will probly be Dohc in my opinion, since it would be really gay and dumb to put sohc in.

i posted this before on the deleted thread, just in case nobody read it. i thought this pretty much confirms the fact that the new SI is a 2.0 liter R series SOHC engine, R20A1 maybe?
ok let's pretend that he works for the canadian honda factory.
us ex= canadian si
us si= canadian si-r
however, he did say he was building two civic coupes, 1 american, 1 canadian. having a canadian si with R18A1 sounds about right since it is equivalent to american ex. but he also said the american si has a 2.0 liter with SAME R series engine. if you read the first post, he did say it looked/assumed it was a K series, but he corrected it and confirmed it was same R series engine.
i suggest yall to read this link from temple of vtec.

basically the conflict now lies between those who actually have access to the car and seen it against those who believe on what the internet info provided them.
quite frankly i would believe the ones who has seen the car first hand.

All I can say is, amazing looking car!. Good bye new Jetta. VW is going out of business!
Correction, built two, 2 door Civic Si coupes, both 6 speed manuals. One Canadian, one American.
The Canadian Si had rear drum brakes, and a 1.8 engine. Listen carefully! On the engine block it said R18A1. Both cars had XM sat ready radios. Auto climate control. rear suspension is different then current Civic. The shock and coil are separate components now. I had a chance to measure the shifter throw. It came out to 5". Measured from tip of the shifter rod (without the ****) and ran the shifter from 3rd to 4th gear. Tires are P215/45R17. Sorry the exhaust is NOT integrated into the bumper. Standard exhaust pipe. The American Si engine was 2.0 (same series R engine) with a big *** straight alloy intake (like on the S2000) going straight into the head. No bends on that intake! Saw no port injectors. Assume new direct fuel injection. Gas peddel is hinged at the floor. Saw a neat button that allows the driver to switch between MPH or KPH. American Si gets rear disk brakes. And no there not Brembo Brakes.

B. your friend's boss has no authority to allow him to release those to the public.

if it's not, then i'm wrong. won't be the first time, nor the last.

by the way.... this is directly from the 2006 civic Si debut remarks found on hondanews.com. at this point, the civic Si was 95% completed. i doubt that they would consider an engine change 5%. not to mention that honda is quite clean and cut about announcing something without knowing 100% that it's going to be true in production. they are very uptight about it.
this is why I think it's going to be a DOHC engine.
Of course, the Si is about more than just the styling. That's why it boasts a 200-horsepower 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC engine, the most powerful motor we've ever put in a U.S. model Civic.

From what i heard they are taking the S2000 engine and slapping it in horizontaly into the new Si
No word of a lie I have access to honda canada's mainframe
No word of a lie I have access to honda canada's mainframe
Just so most of you know I have not been around for only three days. I just showed pictures from a source taht I had and that what I had stated on the previous day that I was correct. Not trying to prove whos wrong and whos right nobody will know untill they release the official specs. Its just that some people and even myself added are finding hard to believe that the Si motor would be SOHC. Now that I have that straight I am just taking info and pictures that were removed from a friend and a 2006 honda civic ride and drive guide. All I know is that my friend was told by his boss to study these specs in order to prep the sales team when they get their first sedans in the end of August early September so they would be educated enough to sell the cars efficiently. Who knows they could update this and change something and if they do my friend will be sure to let me know. I just dont appreciate the fact that just because Im not well known on this site that some people are such a**holes and to ignorant to belive someone else then rather say ok thats cool and thanks for telling us what you heard. Also the Si's are not almost completed because another thing my fiend heard was that they did not even have an assembly line for the Si's and that all of them were being built by hand in Ohio. Here it is one more time for evryone who did not get to see it.
