Thanks for the pic, I believe you (after reading all the hoopla).
Why is there such a problem with it? SOHC have there ups and there downs. So it's not DOHC, who cares... it's not the end of the world. Sure it's not a DOHC, but SOHC ain't bad, check out some of the benz, the majority of there engines are SOHC!
P.S. Or maybe it's a joke and honda (w/ ashton kutcher) has just punk'd us

if it is sohc, i wanna know how they pulled 200hp out of a 2.0L. And does that torque seem really low or what? Thats almost like our regular civics. The 2000si had 139 Wtq! And the writing reads like a 12 year old wrote it.

Its gotta be a typo in that pamphlet. I mean come on, the S key is right next to the D key on the keyboard so a typo is definately a real possibility in spelling SOHC and DOHC.

the reason why they were deleted is because from previous experience you can get burned for having possibly sensitive material hosted by this site.

2000 Honda Civic
-2 Dr Si Coupe
Horsepower: 160 hp
Torque: 111 ft-lbs.
Anyways, you act like the honda engineers are dumb, I think they are smart enough and have the education (plus degrees) to back it up. Im pretty sure with the right R&D they had no problem pulling 200hp out of a 2L SOHC (if it's SOHC) engine.

the main thing that leads me to belive the SI motor isn't a R series motor is the fact that the R18 is supposed to make 138hp and 128tq. The SI engine makes 200hp and 138TQ (which just happens to be pretty much identical to k20 specs) If the 200hp SI engine is an R series motor it should have alot more torque than 138 according to the R18 specs. Alot less torque than hp is pretty normal for a Honda DOHC motor.
Of course no one will know till its on showroom floors or honda releases offical specs, but thats my opinion.

even though i didnt read the deleted thread or saw the picture when he posted it here....I SAY BAN jzuha01. he is reluctant to comply with the rules or things he is being told by a mod.
he must have cancer...cuz he sure is stupid!

Look I am a big enough man to admit when Im wrong and posting that other picture last night was wrong. I was a little drunk and Im sorry. Second of all I was not calling s2000man01 an *** because he deleted the pictures because I understand why he did it. The *** statement was directed at the people who are so quick to tell someone their wrong and not just be cool about it and say, thanks for telling us what you have heard and the pictures. I know everyone was eager to see the pictures and for those of you who did see them I only put them up because everybody and everbody was basically saying that me and my friend were full of **it. I would not be so adament about something unless I was positive. Yeah and these pictures and material Ive seen could be changed Im not denying that. So we call all wait until August 31st and go to yahoo autos and look under the new car showcase and my friend said that all the specs should be released by on that day, that was the info he got from the ride and drive people. So for now we can all call a truce and just wait to see. Just so you know there will be no drinking and typing!!!!!!!

that defently says DOHC out loud... Who really cares? Jeez...
big deal.. guys are making a big deal over a little thing... Its just a redesighned SI with a k-series putting out slightly more hp. God I cant wait to see how bad you guys get when honda releases a new s2000. Im not impressed with this car at all. You can still pick up a colbalt same price with 210hp, 200ft tq at 4000 rpm, versus this at what 7800? Also interior is ick..
Its nice but it aint anything special. Who knows maybe honda has learned from the Scion marketing guys who can sell people a damn box and create alot of hype

I've done some research, and according to a friend who went to a civic party, the 06 si has a k20z3.
the current 05 rsx type s has k20z1
