Heheh, Any kind of Mustangs' I dislike... If someone would give it to me for free, I would just sell it. I'd rather get a Civic DX than a Cobra. That's just me.

I can see you guys don't have much faith in me...
The Kit is called the Outlaw Turbo Kit. I read about it at www.turbodrivenconcepts.com, but that page is undergoing "renovation" or some ****. Go to www.cacmotorsports.com they have a little bit of info on it. Of course alot of work is required including a different head. You don't just bolt it on and go. And it's also not street legal, but who cares? It's $5300 installed and the expected power output is 650 to 1000 hp!!!
Straight from the website:

<< This kit is not for the Everyday Driver, The Wimps, or The Weak at Heart! This Outlaw kit is for Drag Racing cars only! No power steering, air conditioning, air pump, converters, or washer bags can be used. The Outlaw kit is for those who are serious about power, and lots of it! This system can only be used with Dart or TFS heads, and a 3 or 4 core radiator. The expected power output on the Outlaw system is 650 to 1,000 horsepower (Note: engine is not stock on power estimates and not for street cars). >>

So please think twice before you call someone a liar....

Dude look at what they are saying. Its not a friggen bolt on turbo they want you to strip your whole car and they dont expect you to have the original motor. So..

As a Civic and Mustang owner, I feel it is my duty to chime in here!

I love my 2k1 EX Sedan, but I know it is NOT A SPORTS CAR! Relax guys, there's nothing wrong with owning an economy car. It's great that you are proud of your rides and some of you take your economy car and make it sporty, pimpin', or whatever you want to call it. Civics are NOT meant to compete with Mustangs, nor are Mustang meant to compete with Corvettes.

If the reports are true, that is going to be a very nice car, and *might* just compete with the 'vette....
a little bit, mainly in accelration. Some of you are too young to remember, but the Mustang (even the new ones) are BASED on the late 1970's Ford Fairmont platform. If any of you are fortunate enough to have one of these in your town where you can see it running, you KNOW this is not a sports car! This really limits the Mustang's handling abilities, which is where the 'vette excels. The Mustang is due for a platform change soon, though. We'll see if it's 2003.

AEM Civic: Building an 800hp Mustang is serious business, and the rest of the car would have to be upgraded as well to deal with the extra power, so tell your friend to get ready for some serious $$$ outlay!

StealthBlack: 800hp is 800hp, "rice" or not. I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

Avenger: I've had my 'stang for over 100,000 miles with no problems, and I know I'm not alone.

DIZNDAVIS: I like the cartoons; keep 'em coming.

aZnVoYCe: I'll make you a deal, if someone gives you a Cobra, I'll give you my 2k1 Civic EX Sedan in trade!!

KurupTLX: I hope you're talking about the V6 Mustangs, because those are the only ones a Civic has a CHANCE of keeping up with, maybe even beating. A 99-00 SI (US) has a good chance of beating one, with the right driver, but an LX/EX (US)....only if the Mustang driver is snoozing, or doesn't know you are supposedly racing.

In any case, the 800hp turbo kit is NOT the norm, just as truly fast Civics are not the norm. Mustangs that are modified with turbochargers and supercharger kits usually fall somewhere within 330-400+rwhp. Some put down significantly more, but these are seriously modified cars, just like a 280 hp Civic would be a heavily modified Civic.

My car has heads/intake/exhaust. The cam, block, fuel system, and drivetrain are stock. I have 285rwhp.
I like naturally aspirated power, but if I had to do a power adder, I think it would be a turbo. I would even consider a small turbo kit (~5 psi) for my Civic when one becomes available to help it get going...

I actually like Mustangs. I have a 01' Civic Ex and my friend has a 00' Mustang V6. Of course, overall, I like my Civic more but I also like the Mustang's aggressive looks. Thats just my opinion.

So your saying, at the crank, that Supra is pushing over 1000 hp. Pretty hard to believe if you ask me. It might be possible, but that engine wont last long after a couple of hard runs.

Hey stealth, why don't you just admit that you were wrong?
I never once said anything about it being bolt on.....I was simply trying to save myself from typing two paragraphs of explaination on what else has to be done to the motor. Common sense tells you that there's no bolt on turbo that will add 800+ horsepower to a mustang GT engine. Most people here have common sense, with the exception of a few I see...

I have to give props to domestic manufacturers for making cheap fast cars. Now come on, you could get a Camaro SS and beat the crap out of many people. I have no problem with this. IMO I like imports better. The point is the debate will never stop. Domestic vs Imports will rage on forever.
Imports will call the domestic ppl hicks and the domestics will call imports ricers. That's just the way it'll be. Hopefully some day I'll have enough money to hand over any Camaro and Mustang's @ss. Until then I'll just stay out of their way.

OKay that supra thing is real, there are plenty, well not plenty, but ive seen 4 so far, which means there are more, supras that put out over 1000hp at the crank, it takes a lot of work but can definatly be done to the stock motor. That supra he is talking about is a maroon one that was feat in sport compact a few months back. Lots of supras put out well over 600 at the wheels. I'm just sticking up for my 2nd favorite all time car, #1 of course being a skyline

Damn, thats alot of stress on those motors. Are they cast iron or what. All i know is, an aluminum block would shatter with that much power. But if you both have seen them, I'll believe it.

I've seen the supra thing too. as stated above there are lots of supra's pushing out well over 600rwhp. It's a good platform for it, just like the skyline.
