I've beat many stock automatics with my stock manual. I've beat many automatics with mods with my stock manual. In the end you with your 100 mods vs. an manual with 100 mods, I feel you won't be the victor. But hey thats me! And hey be forewarned too much Nos will blow your tranny!!!

and oh waytooslow JoeB16 did a good job explaining Nitrous but I don't take everyones Grandpa's story about Autos beating Manuals with Nitrous to the heart. So since he said it, it doesn't mean its always correct in some way...

Manual trannys rob LESS power then automatics. So given the same car the one with the manual is going to put down a bit more power, stock for stock. Also Manuals are better for launching the car in a drag race (thats not to say that autos cant be races since bracket racing you win by consistancy so automatics usually rule there). That being said, NITROUS applications are well suited for automatics due to the fact that A) you cant miss shift and B) the gearing is longer meaning that you can stay on the juice for a longer period of time before having to let off to shift.
BUT keep in mind that it IS hard on auto trannys just as it is on manuals. since u dont have a clutch, the auto grearbox takes all the abuse. thats why your going to need to run an auto tranny cooler (they r cheap and u can pick one up from summitracing.com with free shipping) as well as some high performance auto tranny fluid (as so it wont boil at such a low temp). the fact that its an auto also limits the ammount of N20 u can safely use, but if you stick with a 50-65 shot, dont worry about it.
