How come these stats are not on the Honda website?? hhmm... nothing is confirmed yet. If you can show me a stat on the Honda website within' the next hour or so I'll believe you.
btw, this is not a civic vs. rsx thread. I was clearing stating the 200hp motor from a marketing point of view. What would be the purpose of have 2 sporty type of cars that have 200 hp?? In my view is not good marketing. This is just my opinion. I say its just my opinion, cause you seem like you have facts.
There are no facts quite yet. I could be wrong, but, I was just stating what I thought.
So if someone starts a rumor that next civic is going to fly, and its post on every car forum, would you believe that?? probably not eh?? then why believe everything you hear. Just cause someone posted it??
oh, btw I do live in a dugeon.

" The Civic Si is also expected to include a more advanced K20 engine with a 6-speed, manual transmission."

"What We Know: Honda rolled out what it called a "Civic concept" at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show, but it also stated that "90 percent of what you see [here] will be in the production version." We imagine most will agree that this sleek coupe's body is a big improvement over the snub-nosed breadbox design of the current Civic Si hatchback. We're on the fence about the black hood and the wing on the back. A number of other high-performance features were readily apparent on the Si concept, such as the drilled brake discs with Brembo calipers, the 18-inch wheels shod with low-profile performance rubber and the center-mounted exhaust outlets. Under the hood was a 200-horsepower, i-VTEC (intelligent variable valve timing) inline four, which, in Si tradition, has a lofty 8,000-rpm redline. No displacement was given, but we're guessing it's the same 2.0-liter mill found in the Acura RSX Type-S but with 10 less ponies. A six-speed manual gearbox sends the thrust to the front wheels through a limited-slip differential. The Civic Si will make its official debut at this year's SEMA show, most appropriate given that the Civic's long-standing status as the darling of the compact car tuner world."

There is a new law stating that all base horsepower figures have to be SAE standard ... which is why the 2006 RSX Type S's are going to be "201" hp, rather than the same 210 hp.
What this means is that the base hp number that the dealer will give you will be less than what you expect ... however, it does not change the horsepower out to the wheels. From what I've heard, SAE standard is actually a closer hp number to the wheels than before.
discuss.

I read an article last month which quoted the president of Honda saying the new civic si will not disappoint and definitely will have 200 h.p. k20A2 or equivalent engine. We'll find out in November.

I've been looking at these pix at vtec.net, and I love them. I really like the interior. It will force other cars to rethink their interiors.
I hope we get something similar. I could use a push button starter and a steering wheel like that... Quick question though, is that a seat adjuster on the thing next to the cig starter? It says something I can't read. I really like that digital speedo.
