2006 Civic has Torsion Beam rear Suspension?
Personally I think there is a typo in the specs.

First, Honda gets rid of the front double wishbones and now the new civic doesn't even have an independant rear suspension.
Seems like you've got to step up to an accord-platform car to get a real Honda now.
This pretty much sucks
www.vtec.net has the info.

Something seems fishy I think there must be a typo or something in the specs. Everyone is moving to independent rear suspension, doesn't make sense for the civic to move back a step.
No not everyone is moving to IRS. the corolla, the sentra, all have torsion beams in the back. the advantage to this setup is that there will be more room in the back. This sucks and it make me move away from getting a new 8th gen. Hopefully thats only in Europe and the American ones will still have the IRS.

The current civics have nice room in the rear. and the floor is flat, seems like there really isn't a room problem.
Keep in mind the current corrolla is soon to be redone. The new golf that is coming out has been redone to IRS.
but this doesn make me wonder, straight form the Honda site.

From a comfort point of view the independent is probabaly more comfortable on irregular roads. With the fully independent set-up the car probably behaves better to on the irrregular roads.
The suspension tuners and Autoxers will have tons more to say.
