why don't you all just give up on these sad attempts at building a racer (more like ricer)? They're such a waste of time and money and unlike older gen. civics, they will never be fast! At least with those you could swap the engine and have a chance, what can you possibly do with these super slow econo-boxes?! I ran into an EX coupe the other day and I was just minding my own business when he got brave and revved at me. Needless to say I spanked him by about 6 cars. Come on, an all wheel drive turbo talon and a civic with an intake!? Get real!!!!!!!!

see now all of you are just proving my point about civics! Everyone that had a response made mention of a car other than a civic that can beat me! Or in one case a civic hatch beating a viper, now correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall saying that the older gen. civics were worth it due to the possibility of engine swaps, and I also said that a civic revved on me, not the other way around! I doubt any of you would turn down a race that was instigated by another car, and besides, its not like I go looking for civics, I generally don't pay attention to them unless they pay attention to me first by trying to mess with me. And about the mr2, maybe you could get me, but the front drive eclipse, my boy has a 97 gst that runs 12's and he can't get me, so I doubt you can. To sum up, I basically called 7th gen civics a waste, not all civics, read more carefully next time.

Well, civics are overall such a better car than the eagle talon.....i'll come along and race you in about 6 months when the piece of crap breaks down and can't go anywhere...my friend had an eagle talon which broke down after 15,000 miles....NEVER BY AN EAGLE!!!!! but anyway i could whoop you with any car i have except maybe the civic and probably the civic in about 2 or 3 months....gettin a custom turbo installed for 1000 because the guy that is doing it is my cousin...hahaha

You do realize that our cars are NEW, of course the other civs are "better" as you like to call them because you can do engine swaps and turbo and all that, do you think they had those kits on the market when the older civ's first rolled around?? No. All of that is coming for our car, and besides we ARE faster than the previous gen civic except for the Si's. So we already have a head start. Make sure you get your **** straight before you come in here flaming everyone.

in response to phillipe01, the fastest car I've beaten is a 97 corvette coupe, I ran an 11.89 @ 102mph to his 12.46 @ 111 at virginia motorsports park in Dinwitty, VA in Aug. of last year. I also didn't assume everyone here had a 7th gen civic, but obviously you do since you saw the need to respond!!

Only reason the previous gens have any chance is because people have spent years figuring out what engines can fit, and what combonations fit in the bay. These care have only 2 years under their belt. Now tell me you didn't see a on CRX with a GSR motor (by the way I know that that isn;t the only motor that can be put in there, that is just the most common replacement, as well as the B16) in it back in 92 did you? Didn't think so, so shut up and leave.

By the way, what I put nto my car is a hobby. I know full well that I'm not going to be breaking the sound barrier with this thing. The math just don't work for it. Stop wasting YOUR time beating around the bush.

supraman, I've had my car for 2 years and it has 54,000 miles and the worst problem I've had is a late oil change. You saying that your friend's broke down so don't ever buy an eagle is like me saying my friends civic broke down so don't ever buy one. And if no one should buy eagles then they also shouldn't buy eclipses, since they are the same car!! I hope you actually have a supra with a name like that.

my frined has a Tsi as well and yes it is very fast but damn yer comparing cars in way different classes. Both cars can be modded up to be really fast. The difference is... the Tsi comes fast stock, the civic is an economy car. It doesnt matter if people wanna mod their car or not. You dont see us starting up threads saying stuff about talons... cuz frankly, we dont give a f*ck about em. This is a 2k1 civic board lets keep it that way.

Hey everyone besides talon shut up and let this guy dig himself a hole! I know why i bought my civic and its not to race anybody! i have never posted anything about racing anybody nor will ever! Its not that kind of car! To some of us a fixed up civic is a luxury car especially if its our first! But the fact is in 4 years my car will still hold a resale value of 12 grand while a talon will only be worth whatever the junk yard will give ! I know at work i have totaled out many talons because they have 60 70 thousand miles and got a minor front end or rearend collision! And had to tell somebody that their car is a total because it aint worth fixing ! I also bought it cause i have worked on many civics and it is one of the best built vehicles that ive seen!(structuraly). But dont flame back at this chump, because he came here with something to prove because they prolly kicked him out of clubsi because he didnt play well with others! I mean hey! What brings a talon owner to a 2k1 civicsite? I guarantee he didnt come type in talon in the search bar and end up here! so just leave him alone and he'll figure out what it is to be an enthusiust! People fix up modle t's and model a's and they arent fast! They are just enthusiusts!Dakota

to tell you the truth, honda's may be better overall cars as far as quality, but why not buy one with more potential, i.e. rsx, civic si, integra gsr, type r, prelude, or for that matter a toyota celica. All of these cars should be well within your financial grasps being that you probably paid what, about $13-18k for your civic? All I'm trying to prove is that this new civic is not worth buying when there are so many other more performance oriented cars well within that price range. To buy a civic for show may be worth it, but to buy one for race is still such a big waste!

how about buying one to go to and from work with and throwing a few things on it to make it more unique and appealing to the eye! I mean i do autobody and i can do everything under my own knowledge! So as i say i bought my car because my dakota was killing me on gas when it was 2.10 a gallon ! so thanks for clearing it up for me that my car that i bought for economical reasons wasn't even worth it! I guess ill go sell it tomarrow! Thats how musch what you said meant to me! Do you know where i can pick up a talon that'll get 30 35 mpg and still be worth 12 grand in four to 6 years? pimpdakota made the first intelligent remark about my post, because I only came in here to see how many responses I would get, you guys take this a lot more seriously than the clubsi people do!! And you're right, eagles aren't sold anymore due to low sales, but the fact still remains that my tsi is the same car as an eclipse gsx save for a few minor details, so you 're basically saying eclipses are garbage too. And lastly, I never said my car was better, I just said I beat a civic on the road cuz he revved on me, unfortunately, all you owners are destined to take on the same image as the kid who tryed to race me, another cocky cookie cutter civic owner taht thinks an exhaust will make him a racer.
