I got JACKED..........
OK, i have a 2000 hatchback civic and my cd deck was totally ripped out. All i see is the cables, and there is a square hole cuz the cd installation kit was all ripped out. Bunch of fukin bastards (excuse my language, just a lil pissed). Does anyone know how much the damage will be? cuz the sides are a lil scratched, they didn't even break the window, they obviously done this a couple of times. It was a clean get away.... anyway... just for the installation kit and stuff how much would it cost??? thanks

Damn that sux, like gear said install kits are usually 20 bux, and someone should have a deck for sale on here!!

My buddy had three audiobahn 10s in his altima, in dash dvd player, 10 farad audiobahn cap, and 1400 watt mono amp, well he totaled that car about a year ago. he was drunk driving when he totaled, and a couple months beofre this he broke his axle, because he slid into a curb trying to impress his ex girl, and her friend by taking a turn too fast. It sucked because the first time he wrecked he had ACE zeus 18"s, and then he got it back with his stocks on, so it looked weird, and then he totaled it a couple months later.
Anyway he deserves no sympathy, so far, however he ended up getting a two door accord. he then removed the rear seats, and built a box/enclosure that filled where the rear seats were, perfectly, i mean perfect. It must have weighed like 1o0lbs!!! It had the three sub pointed strait ahead, so when you put your seat back it would give you a massage basically. He also installed his kenwood in dash dvd player, top of the line might I add, and mounted the mono amp and ccap ontop of the box.
The thing is i spent more than a work day helping him dyno matt his car and install everything. Man it sounded so sweet, the only thing he needed was the 4 channel amp for his audiobahn components. I remember thinking man this is so sweet, while busting my knuckles and what not, while intalling it. Well he finally gets his four channel and he installs that himself, and 5 days later....
His dad wakes him up at 5:30, and he goes out to his car to find the passenger window shattered, and the entire box gone, as well as HU. They pulled out a 100lb box, with three 10s in it, with everything else mounted on top. Oh yeah he screwed the box to the car itself, but evidentally it did not matter. The only thing they did not take were the components.
But there is a happy ending-so do not let the bastard discourage you.
he now has-
-panasonic HU-not dvd, but still nice-with xm radio as well
-viper alarm
-two 13.5"w6s-enclosed separately pointing up in his car-the screws holding the sub to the enclosure are anti theft screws and he bolted each box from the inside to the car, and stripped them as well!!!
-forget the name of his amps, but he has a 4 channel, and 1500 watt mono amp
- and is actually as we speek getting ready for fiberglass!!!
His front and rear windshields leak when it rains and he bumbs his system!!!!

Rep Power: 0 nah, i didn't have an alarm and i didn't have the faceplate off.. it was actually my bro's car, i have the 01 civic... WHY THE HELL DID HONDA MAKE THE 2000 CIVICS ALL RETARDED.... look at the window and anyone can pry it down and unlock the door with some long shaft. I'm thinking about getting an ALARM for my car now... ANYONE KNOW ANY GOOD ALARM + INSTALL FOR LESS THEN $200.00?? HM.. $250.00 at max?
edit: and what kind of security alarm is the best? shock, window, etc... I guess i'm asking which one is the best bet to keep a car robber(lowlifes) out and away from my car?

best is not show off your system. Or in my case I only have a small amp so I'm always showin it so word gets around that I don't have anything worth stealing. Alarms don't work much unless you have one with a pager, and a gun when you run back to your car.

Rep Power: 0 If you start building internal walls with speakers protrouding out of them, you better park your car somewhere safe and have it under video surveillance. You also should consider it as more than just a regular car and thus take care of it a little more, in general, including security-wise. As far as decks go, that's why I would always take the faceplate with me and see it as a necessary feature when shopping around.
There's nothing wrong with showing off in my opinion, but protect your car properly if you decide to go that route!

Rep Power: 336 dark tints help. you could get an aftermarket headunit that has a faceplate that can be removed. i always take my faceplate, that helps. anyway, tint does alot for the car.

Rep Power: 0 thanks for everyone's input. i just wanted the security so when the alarm goes off the theives will get scared and run off... or am i not being realistic here, do theives get scared when the alarm goes off?? I guess i'll save the money and just tint my car, rather than getting a security system.

Rep Power: 336 the point is they won't steal it cause the face plate it off. your faceplate= compatible with your unit only. and you can get like a viper alarm for around 200 + install, and yeah if it goes off they go running. there are certain rules you follow when you are theiving. i learned them from a holes so i knew what was up

God I hate it when crap like that happens.. just puts my in a world of pissed off i aint ever been. I remeber way back in the day, when i woke up to go to school, and my dad said "your brother will be driving you to school today" i thought this was odd, so i steped out side, and low an behold my brothers car had been broken in to and every thing jacked from his car is: 2 Rockford Comp 12's, 2 500w kicker Mono amps, 1 4 channel kicker amp, 6x9's, cd changer, deck, fronts. all gone! i was like crap sucks to be him.
So i thought i would go check it out a little closer befor the cops showed up. And i looked an my 84 ford f250 had a broken window i was like ahh hell no. Sure as Sht i looked in my car and saw my 2 JL 10's were gone, along with my amp, and all my cds. Luckaly they didnt steal my deck *cause i had the face plate* , the cd in the deck or the door speakers. So i wasnt completly jam less.
That feeling just sucks, know all those lunches you didnt eat so you could by 1 JL 10 not to mention 2 and an amp. God. $650 total worth of my stuff(brothers was way more) /$10 a week thats 65 weeks of scraping up change to have ramen for lunch lol. Something i work so hard for takin away like that. the weird thing is it had to happen in 2 hours. Cause i went to bed a 3 and my brother woke up at 5. but its alright.
There is nothing that i can posses that can not be taken away.But to this day i still know who did it, and honestly i dont care, they will get theres soon enough. Karmas a bitch. And if your out there TWL hey marry christmas, happy new year, felize navidad, happy birthday, hope you enjoyed it while you can.

So if they took my deck and tried to use their faceplate (same brand/model) it wouldn't work?? If that's true, omg.. that is unfortunate cuz if my bro knew that, he woulda taken that **** off every time he left the car.

Rep Power: 0 but i think many people do take the faceplate off and just put it in the glove compartment.. why didn't they make civics with locks on the glove compartment. does the '02-'05 civics have locks for the glove compartments?

No, i have an 04', i wish my glove box locked!!!
Get the viper it is like 300-350 including installation, you just gotta call around for install prices. It is worth it, remote start, top of the line, might as well cough up the beans. The only reason i do not have one is that i park in a garage everynight. Usually these types catch you bumping your **** and follow you home, also i am usually just over friends houses when not at home, and i live in the cut.
Also if you want to make sure nobdy steals your **** get the optional siren that is so damn painful you cannot stay in the car. And if you really really wanna protect your **** get an ambulance siren put in, there is no way in hell they would take your ****.

well, right now for me. thieves can't steal anything from my car!!! cause i took out my console so i can do some custom work on them. so i got no climate control, no HU, no nothing! and it's gonna be like that for another 2 weeks or so...
