the rule is if it takes more than 30 seconds to pull the job the theif won't do it. i meant 30 secs to open door and take what they want and walk away. yeah the lock thing would help but if they had enough time they could pop it open. i mean even i have a lock pit set that i practice with. if your worried about the car being stolen, then just unplug your ignition packs from your spark plugs, then the car won't go anywhere, if your worried about getting the headunit jacked again, then get a removable faceplate and take it with you. if you had the stock unit removed, its useless to the thief because he has no unlock code.

I know it is possible for some to have the know how to cut the power to the alarm including the ambulance siren, but that is soo unlikely. It is also possible for someone to have a wireless interface that could theoretically start any car with remote start, unlock basically any car, open any garage door, and even turn you house alarm off. This kind of an extreme but, if someone knew how to cut the power to a viper alarm, they could make more money installing and designing them, considering the risk of stealing stereos is up there. they would prob just take your car, Unless you have gold bars in you car. The chance of this happenign atleast outside of LA is not really worth worrying about, cause if it will happen it will happen.
Oh yeah, it took more than thirty seconds to steal my friends stereo, where did you hear this thirty seconds theory from?
I have a pick set as well, not really into it as much when i was younger, i remember in high school we were locked out of my friends house and i picked his dead bolt to get in. It was awsome!!!
Also i meant i want a locking glove box, because cops cannot search it if it is locked, unless they bring the dogs. If they do want to bring the dogs, you can say you have to be somewhere and unless i am under arrest i will not wait for more than 10 minutes!!

Rep Power: 0 To enter my 02 cents, what I have been doing is locking the trunk down with a Kryptonite bike cable so its unable to open.What you do is mount it from the underside of your trunk then to a point on the floor that way when the seats are locked nobody is getting in the trunk.Even if they managed to get the seats down their is no way they are taking anything out through the small holes.
If they go in through the back seats could they un hook the cables or is your box big enough to block the rest of the trunk off??

the thief will always be able to get in to the car. no matter what you do. unless your knight rider. but what you want is to have the least damage possible. dont keep valuables in your car. if you have a system turn it off b4 you pull into your development/complex/work/school. if you have video same thing. get an alarm with a hood pin so when they pop your hood the alarm will go off. glass break sensor is another one this way the second the glass breaks the alarm will sound. finally you want a battery back up siren so they dont just pop the hood and disconnect your battery to make it shutup. tint with a windshield shade is a good option for keeping items out of view. dont put a bunch of stickers on your car like neuspeed, alpine, aem. it draws attention to your car. dont show your sysytem/mods off to everyone. but at the end of the day if a tow truck driver follows you to the mall and puts your car on the flatbed its gone. nothing you can do unless you have gps even then they can say you were parked illegally.
