man, your friends park their cars in the ghetto or something?? have some common sense and park somewhere where it wouldn't happen, much better than buying an alarm
Get an alarm, a house with a room facing the car with the window open, and a shotgun...
Try this out.. I had the same f***er smash my glass twice within 3 days (alarm went off both times and scared him away) and the truck was even parked on the oposite side of town the second time.. ran outside with a big *** knife and my girlfriend's pants on.. hehehe.. How far would someone go for a Jensen 400w amp and 2 orion DVC's...... I gave that crap to someone about 6 months later cause it sucks.

You know something really ironic? You know those el cheapo Bulldog alarms that hook straight to your battery? Hehe...my cousin got one, and it got stolen a week later. HAHAHAHA! I guess the thief wanted to prove a point. You have to spend more than $30 on an alarm.
investing in an alarm is a good idea......... even though ur shizt can still get stolen.....
it might scare the fluckers away and even wake u up to go SHOOT THEM in the back

long story short: had my car broken into right in front of my house.... $1500+ in damage done to the car in order to get the $150 stereo. car has been waiting, undriven, at the collision center for a "dash reinforcement bar" that has been on backorder for... A MONTH NOW. not available in the US until the 31 of Jan.
while in the shop, i have had a 6' chain link fence built with a rolling gate. pimpin aint easy.
since this time, i know two dudes who have 1) wrecked their ride on the freeway and 2) had their ride taken out into the desert and stripped of the engine. both these guys are back up and runing already. me? stereo taken, out of commission for over a month. alarms rule.

Compustar is good, but I think the frost on my car sets it off...itll be 3 in the morning and ill hear the pager go off and i look at the window...nothing out there, nobody in sight. Does it in the day too. When there is somebody there tho ill be waiting with my bat...

to anyone that's getting an alarm anytime soon.....
remember that the quality of the alarm is important, BUT the person who installs it will make a world of diffference of the effectiveness of your alarm. don't go out and buy a $300 alarm and expect to make it a DIY (unless u are a professional installer) or pay some guy $20 to do it.
cheers

01civicboi: Exactly. Buy a quality alarm, and make sure you get a quality install! If you don't have a good install with an alarm no matter how great it may be, thieves will be able to by pass it with ease.
But then again, if the thief really wanted something/your car they would steal it, and before you could get up, and grab your shotty, the damn f****r would be gone!

My sound system on my Ford explorer was stolen. On that day I swear not to install any good sound system on any of my car I will stick with my OEM sound sytem. I think putting a large subs and driving around your neighborhood with it, really attract potential thief.
