jet fuel is kerosene for the most part... most aircraft turbines will run on a jet fuel called jet a-1, and jp8 is essentially the same as a-1 but has some additives like anti-icing and some corrosion inhibitors
If this IS real, who the hell sells a car with two jet engines without giving further details? He's got one little blurb about it. I guess serious buyers are going to email him about it, but still. I'm still finding this hard to believe. The photos do look chopped, and correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these jet engines VERY expensive even when they are of the high hour surplus variety?
And another thing...according to my research these engines produce somewhere in the ballpark of 1,050 HP. What can you do with a car that has 2100 HP that you can't do with 1,050? This is a ridicuious waste of time and money, and a prime example of poor engineering. Although I have to admit its very cool looking and looks like quality work. Just seems like a HUGE waste.
nah, actually you can get a used turbine such as those pretty cheap...on ebay of all places....they're not that pricey when they've seen a lot of hours, but they're reliability is suspect.
i used to work in a hangar when i was stationed in korea and the maintenance those guys put in on those engines is unbelieveable...they're usually in a lot better shape than you'd think...ours were broken down and basically completely rebuilt after every 200 hours of flight time....
but there is still the question as to why?? and where are the intakes routed to....from....at???
