Whats wrong with this VIN?

1HGEM22171L801282

I keep typing it into carfax and it says ins wrong, i actually wrote it down from the car unless i got it wrong , can any of you tell me which numbers i screwed up, like the first couple??

its a 01 civic dx coupe

you have one to many digits, i think that em2 vins are 16 digits

anibal is an unknown quantity at this point

if your car is 5spd, it should be em212, not 221...I think the AT is em222...either way, that em221 yor have seems wrong...check your numbers again...and check the pdf. I have a 01 dx coupe.

typically, dont VIN #s not contain Os or 0s or 1s or I's?? cause theyre so easy to confuse? that might be one issue...but i dont know what else might be wrong w/ it.
