Look at this!!!!!
I have to agree with Brill... althought i STRONGLY push stick, get what YOU like, not what I or anyone else likes... after all, it's your ride and you $$$
Jan, I have to disagree with you on the FUN part.
Sure, when I drove my Si home it was fun. Sitting in stop and go traffic on 2nd street in Harrisburg with a stick is NOT fun.
There are times in my Si when I wish I had taken my auto 2K1...

<< stick baby...
10 reasons...1)more control over the car
2)cheaper from the start
3)cheaper to fix
4)cheaper as far as gas (better gas economy)
5)FUN FUN FUN
6)you never know when the time comes when you'll HAVE to drive a stick, so it's nice to know
7)FUN
8)the Civic is the crispest shifting car i've ever driven (which is a lot)
9)don't get bored when you're driving
10)did I mention it's FUN AS HELL?!!
automatic
1)for lazy ppl that don't give a crap about driving >>

<< also forgot speed, sticks are faster >>
so true
this rental car i have tops out at 105 on a hill
auto's suck
only reason i would get a auto is for a luxury car
but if it came in stick i would probably get it
<< you forgot transmission life, autos die and cost a lot to fix >>
what a silly misconception.
My old '89 mazda 323 auto tranny is still pulling that car along just fine. my brother is driving it... and well, that car is 13 years old now... so if u plan on having your civic for 13 years then more power to ya but still... look thru any car book the auto tranny always boosts the resale value even on a 13 year old car.
oh and one other thing... manuals have a clutch which oh lets see 'die and cost a lot to fix'
its all relative man. dont go around bashing things u dont know about
it all comes down to preference. i love my auto. i have a friend who hates the idea of an auto... i prefer it. go with what you prefer man.
