And yeah, Honda may have sold almost a million civics since 01, so what does that prove? NOTHING, esp. not the quality of them.

not to mention we have how many members here vs 1 million 7th gen civics out there? it's a reliable car with far fewer problems per vehicle than most out there.
the point of me mentioning honda has sold 1 million of them was not to "prove" they are reliable because of good sales. my POINT is that this website and your experiences are nowhere NEAR enough for you to make a judgement on the quality of the civic.

Thats what s2000man01 is trying to point out i think. Total vehicles sold compared to total number of complaints is still a valid arguement.

^^ completely agree with you bro... its true that people don't talk about the good things. And yes, toyota and honda have much better reliability than everyone else.
However, at the same time you don't hear problems of ratting noises and things coming apart from the older gen of civics. I say this because i use to own a '99 civic which never gave me the problems that the 7thgen does. Also, you'd hardly hear about stuff like this happening from other owners on the forum i use to be at. I haven't heard half as many complaints about older gen civics compared to 7th gen civics, but thats just from personal experience.
The bottom line is that car manufacturers have started using cheaper materials and machines that work much faster to assemble cars inorder to increase efficiency.

Just to add, i've read several times in local newspapers that japanese cars dominate quality rankings, specially toyota motor crop. Even when you do a quick search online you find the same thing most of the time...

I think that the quality of our Civics aren't that bad. I know someone that has an 04 Cavalier and the materials used inside look cheap and the cloth on the seats feel rough. At the same price for my VP my Civic actually looks and feels decent. And for the price of the cars I think the quality is better than some expensiver cars out there. Oh yeah someone mentioned that the msrp of a Civic hasn't changed much. But you have to take into consideration that these are economy cars and that they aren't suppose to cost a fortune. On top of that when I bought my Civic the dealer wouldn't budge on the price while GM gives like $3-4,000 cashbacks.

And if you can't get a dealer to budge on a price, then u just suck at car buying. I got almost 3k off my car when I bought it.

This is what cambo said in your "fake honda" thread. To me, it doesn't seem like he's saying they're the same quality. And yeah, I have made up my mind, I never contradict myself. And I argue cuz people like you tend me make up some BS and THINK they know shiet. And guess what? THE JOKE SUCKED! U like dry humor....I DON"T GIVE A DAMN!

azntiger, you're new, so i'll cut ya a break. people will respond much better to your advice and listen much better to your side of a debate if you do it without calling people stupid, moron, and idiot. not to mention name calling is childish and unecessary to contribute to a topic like this.
so everyone chill with the insults.

afterall, there is no specific report from professional car reviewer mentioning anything about Honda car quality going down. In fact, recent rating on Honda is all A to A+ with exception of the RL, due to its lack of V8 at its class and price.
I noticed a lot of pros for Hyundai, but it is base on its cheap price. That is, the car is nice only with its cheap price. There will be a whole a lot competition and more strict judgement once the car moves upscale.
