Reliability of an EVO
I haven't really done much research on EVOs but how reliable are they? I know Mitsu isnt known for reliability but maybe the EVO is an exception?
I been looking at 350Zs late but I found a couple EVOs in my price range so I'm wondering if its even worth checking them out.
I'm looking for 3 basic things for my next car; Reliability, Resale value and performance/fun so the 350Z, S2000, WRX and now the EVO are all possibilities.... with 350Z being out in front cuz of looks.

i read an article in a magazine that mentioned how the evo clutch was a downfall. their source was off various evo forum members as well.
no idea about reliability, never had exp with mitsu. i would do some google searching on mitsu

I asked that Q to an Evo owner... he said a lot of times it's b/c of the ppl driving them. The example he gave was his friend did a 2nd gear downshift from a buck forty.... and the tranny fell off.....
There is no substitute

The clutch always takes a hell of a beating on AWD cars, especially when doing a lot of hard launches. My friend's WRX had the same problem. Reliability I'd say S2000, but for all-around driving (slow city, etc) and speed I'd say 350Z, since it has a lot more torque, and it's sweet looking too.
Is this going to be a second car, or daily driver? If bad-weather driving is any consideration I would say go for the EVO or WRX, since you can't beat AWD in the wet and snow.

My buddy has an evo he does the occasional beat run in iut but he drives it good most of the time. From what i hear the downfall of all teh awd cars with massive power is their center differential. I have also heard of clutch probs but if you read enough the 350's have massive tranny and clutch problems also. teh s2000 wil prolly be the most reliable that engine is a godlike engine. The choice is yours but there are ups and downs in all of the cars you mentioned. Good luck
spell check pwns you

yeal the differental is bad when you put power into them. theres this one car around where i live.. evo 8 with 600whp...he blue his diff. like twice so far...also there clutch...friend drifted a turn doin 60 and blue his 2nd gear had to skip it. i would say 350 with the twin turbo kit and all..or even the s2k put a turbo in that....both are real good choices..if it was me i would say sk2 with turbo put on
