sometimes I think we did get screwed, because of the designs of the vehicle leaves us with a lot of restrictions, but ofcourse we seem to get away with them some way or another.

i didnt get screwed. if you bought a civic to go fast, you made a bad choice. i bought mine for good gas mileage, honda reliability, and because i wanted a car after i got rid of my jeep.
i dont think we got screwed, i think honda just got better with tuning their cars. 6th EX civic with intake and exhast will receive more relative gains compared to a 7th gen civic. But how has honda better tuned civic out of the factory? Well the 7th gen Ex puts about 10-12 more whp than the 6th gen ex while 7th the engine only gains 2hp since the 6th gen. im sure a 6th gen civic with bolt ons could surpass the whp of a stock 7th gen. but a 7th gen bolt ons wil put it at par with the 6th. so what am i saying. i think our engines are just tuned as afar as it would go with simple boltons. both 6th and 7th would perform about the same with bolt ons, but the 6th will just get more relative gains cuz it wasnt tuned as well by honda. well thats my theory at least hahaha.
i always looked at the lack in gains as a pro. i mean if companys like aem cant improve the car with bolt ons then honda is doing their job. i am glad to know that they did the best they could.

Haha well you have to realize that modding a civic is fun even tho it may be slow. If you don't like slow, you shouldn't have bought the car. But I've had alot of fun modding mine and would much rather have a dependable slow car that looks sweet and can turn heads. I wonder how the srt owners would feel when I tell em I got 42mpg with my ex auto last weekend on a roadtrip.

no, i didnt feel i got screwed because i didnt buy the civic thinking it was a race car. and most people dont buy it for that reason either. to most it is an economy car...to get from A to B for a reasonably price.

come on guys the civic is not that slow. ive pushed 110 in it. if thats slow what are you guys on. i agree w/gear box. its a fun car. i would safely say that the civic is the most customizable car anyone could buy. that and 40mpg while still being able to go faster than a focus, lancer, elantra and sometimes even 3.8 mustangs. we did not get screwed. far from it. anyway, its a nice looking car and scince you know your not gonna race it unless your an idiot, then appriciatte that. at least you don't own a ford. or a hyundai. or a kia. lol
