^^^^^^^^^^^my car was turbo'd i just took it off. i cant get it to work right at all. so now i have a all motor beast pushing 122hp.

I had e-manage installed and no one could get it to hold any settings. i had ever single harness and the senor. got rewired twice. had a new e-manage brought in, still nothing.

i cant understand why the e-manage didnt workin my car. car is too slow now. not happy. idk.

who cares about boost. it would be a fun all motor beast. if i was going to go turbo, prob a ls/vtec. do a b18 head.

Ya that sucks. I've never messed around too much with in car electronics. I'd be intimidated with having to do that. In any event 122hp would eat my stock civic up quick...

I have a complete D17 engine and tranny sitting in my garage in non working order. If I were to do anything performance to my Civic, I think I'd stick with all motor myself. Although I can definatley see the benefit of turbo.

As far as I know, in California you can only put something that is the same year or newer in your car if you have the same year or newer ECU. You can pass emissions if you know someone that will pass you.

legally, you can't ... but this car isn't a street legal car... strictly a bonneville top speed car

Mirage did it ... search his name on here, you'll find a lot of pics of his car

But the engine is brand new though, so I guess the engines are newer than our car, which makes it legal?

nah man, just set it up for methanol.....I think that some meth engines are running a dynamic compression ratio of like 17:1 (each psi of boost is like .5 compression ration points), the only problem is that it eats through steel fuel rails and pits aluminum intakes (oh and it burns clear).

Thats freakin nuts. Do you have a 01?? I wonder if we have the same prob somewhere with electrical. My TSI unit will not save for the life of me. Ive been through 3 units (brand new), nothing worked. I rewired and tried other stuff, nothing. It absolutely wont work, and its hooked up correctly. I dont understand why the unit wont work in mine, cuz everybody else has no prob at all with it. It may be time to go check some fuses. Everything in the car works fine though, thats whats crazy. so it shouldnt be a fuse. I also checked the ones I thought it could be. Ill check every single one I guess. If I figure this out, I will definately let you know.

Yeah i do not understand why it wont work. ive had 2 places look at it and they cant figure it out. the poeple from greddy said its my car that wont make it work. but im like WTF there are more then enough poeple that have turbo setups and they are running fine.

ive check everything, the 2 shops have check and tried everything. i would have had a sick setup, very upset about that. i had plans to do the internals this fall and winter. sucks. im thinking of buying a used motor and do the work myself. installing the turbo kit, camshaft, pistons, rods, sleeve, pnp, 3 angle valve job. everything that can be done to make this car handle **** loa of boost. so close too would have been done by the next summer.

well the turbo thing did work out for me. had problems. so i took it oof and im all motor now. plus i know more about b-series motors. i would actaully like to get a bubble hatch 93-98. all done up. new paint job and no stupid stickers. just plain like how my car is now, just lowered and rims. everything to show comes from under the hood.

$12,000 for 275hp? i would just build a nice turbo K and swap it or even a turbo b20 if you have to go with the b series swap and you won't have the the idel issues like you would with this engine. with the cam in there you would probably have to set your idel at like 1400rpm.

$12,000 sounds about right. remember its NA so there would be no lag like a turbo. for the 240HP 4AGE TRD motor it costs around $20,000 and that motor stock starts off with 130HP but i dont think TRD sells that motor anymore.

Quote: lol....I love how the list is such a dream list of parts then the exaust is stock dx, I could see that choice if it was NA but a turbo I would have guessed somthing custom.......but then again I don't build 400+hp motors and they do
I know for sure Cheesefrog's website used to say the DX exhaust was only "on the car." It wasn't installed. He was running some sort of race exhaust with the DX muffler basically hanging off the back of the car to add to the "sleeper" look of it.

I want to see someone mount a ls1 or an ls2 in a civic. Takes a **** load of obvious work but you could mount it right behind the front seats of the car
imagine a mid engine 400hp or 350hp rear wheel drive civic
sounds like a monster garage experiment...
