k20a2 turbo vs. srt-4
My buddy has an srt-4 with a mopar turbo, short shifter, and exhaust. Im getting my k20a2 over the summer. Im going to turbo that once college starts. He's running at 14 psi. I'll probably run 8 or maybe 10 psi, but most likely 8. Who would win in the quarter mile? who would win from a 40 mph roll? Do srt-4's have the same traction problems as us?
SRT-4s come w. an LSD, so they can put power down better. The K20 will put out good numbers once turboed, but its not a turbo engine, wasn't designed to run boost, so you might run into problems pushing higher PSI #s if you don't fortify some of the internals. The rods especially.

Im not exactly sure. Stock is like 210 or 220 I believe. He's at 14 psi, and some upgrades. You think I would win from like 40mph to 100mph? I figure the k20a2 is 200 hp, and 8 psi its 280 around, so i believe I would have a chance
the k20 turbo would beat the srt-4. now if the srt was upgraded with bigger intercooler, better turbo, better piping and better exhaust it would probably win. just cause its made for turbo and can push more psi. but then if you build the k20 for turbo, u'd own him, along with a lot of other cars, all day long. there is an rsx type S here in p'cola that was smoking 350z's, Z28's, and I think a base corvette at only 10-12psi. but he blew his motor and is building it for turbo now. I can only imagine how fast it will be after its built for turbo and can push 18+ psi

the rods on a K20 are forged, so they would be a doubtful point of failure simply from running boost. (unless you were running very high amounts)
You would have NO problem smoking an SRT4 with the mods he has if you had a K20 running 8psi. You'd walk him like a dog.

the SRT-4 would beat you at a roll. their 4th gear pulls are offically insane. and especially with mopar goodies.. you would be able to keep up, but the SRT-4 would win..thats the way the cookie crumbles...

Some of you have no idea what you are talking about with regards to the K20A2. The stock internals are good for up to 350 whp. There are a number of peepz in the ClubRSX forum who have stock internals and are runnin 12 psi. One guy is runnin 14 psi. One of the biggest factors in the engine reliably handling so much power is tuning. Tuning is everything.
