i bet they will just discontinue the RSX after 2006 then have the S2000 gain 40 extra ponies...
my next bet is finally release a civic typeR with 220hp...
then i predict honda will build a Acura version S2000 (something like SSX... i wish luxery car companies still used real names) that uses the TL engine
*****wishful thinking*****

Im getting tired of the new stuff. The 8th gen is ugly Imo. I wish they went back in time and made 6th gen civics, and Crx's, but put all this new power into those. Now that is my dream.

Anyone can pull numbers out of their ***. Give it a few months, then we will find the real stats.

theyve never used a completely different motor from lx to ex it would just make things harder on them, i think they will use a d18 with sohc vtec for the ex maybe better tuned and use regular old plain boring engines in others as for the si i believe its not going to be a k-series thats already in production

i agree..since the 7th gens, have some crappy motors..IMO, and i dont want to right now go and get a k20 swapped into my car, but i mught as well, if the motors are upgraded in EX models, making it more afordable in the junkyards to take a EX Civic and swap out the motor and tranny. Since the RSX motor is getting put inot basicly the 'Vic, Would the ^ spd be put into the 'Vics? i mean that a convincing factor to go and buy a 200 HP coupe, and have the 6spd. bout time if so! also the 7th gens are lighter, so response and all would be greater than a RSX!

well i get this taked from http://www.autobytel.com/content/sha...n/SMX/ovtac/PI

It's been 20 years since the first Honda Civic Si arrived in the U.S. for the 1984 model year, and Honda says that the 2006 Civic Si will be the fastest and most powerful production Civic ever. A 200-horsepower, 16-valve, dual-overhead cam, inline four-cylinder engine with an 8,000 rpm redline boasts the latest generation of i-VTEC technology to produce optimum power, optimum efficiency, and optimum levels of emissions.
A close-ratio six-speed manual transmission delivers power to the front wheels, and the engine breathes through a sport-tuned exhaust system that sounds terrific. Honda recorded a production Civic Si making a run through the gears and played it during the concept's introduction to reporters. It sounded more powerful, and more exotic, than a four-cylinder ought to. Keeping that power flowing to the ground is a standard helical-type limited slip front differential.
Large 18-inch alloy wheels wearing 225/40 performance tires filled the wheel wells on the Honda Civic Si Concept, fronting four-wheel-disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors and Brembo four-piston calipers. But these rotors and calipers are just for show, like the glossy black-painted hood, giant rear decklid wing, and the air diffuser with center-mounted exhaust mounted under the back bumper

where do you see this? i see no navigation system in rsx, complete weight changes, body changes, engine changes, hell even wheel changes.

1 its a k24 not a k20
2 no navigation or any where near the same refinement as a TSX
4 Interior is unsimilar
3 It has nothing in common apearance wise any more than a civic and an RSX do.......... other than its a honda.
so since you say duh so much as if to say , its a fact that everyone knows about.......why don't you back it up a stament or two.....

The RSX and TSX are very different in price and aim. The marketing of the TSX is aimed specifically at being a entry level luxo-sedan fighter, while the RSX is the car that Honda has aimed at other coupe and sporty FWD cars. The price difference also tells you this because the RSX is closer to the Celica while the TSX is more 3-series price. Also, size. The RSX is based on the compact Civic, except it is styled more aggressively so it will naturally be small. The TSX is a narrow version of the Accord, so it will inherently be larger.
Rumors about the RSX being dropped would make sense as the Civic platform that it is based off of would be modified. A 2-door version of the TSX would make sense becuase the last gen TL that was in that class had a 2-dr version, the CL.
Anyway, I was just reading the Model Matrix redesign from TOV and it says the EL will get a k20 with 200hp and a 5 spd auto. I want an EL...

Its more marketing then any real relationship. The tsx and rsx are suppose to be entry level acura's so some people might see them as brothers, but they have no such relation. The tsx has more refinement and has both double wishbone suspension in the front and back. The rsx has struts and wishbone suspension. The difference in performance between the two is apparent if you look at the honda racing results. Usually drivers who drive the tsx come in at a higher place. There both based off different platforms as well.
Honda is will probably reform their line up, thats why most people say the rsx is gone. If you were honda, why would you want a acura to be compared against a toyota celica or a dodge srt-4? You want all your acura cars to be compared against a lexus or mercedes. The rsx doesn't fit into the luxury image so from a business point, its better just to get rid of it at least in its current state. I'd love to see the rsx come back with the full double wishbone suspension and rwd, so it can be a real contender to the 3 series.
