hydraulics

IM A NEW MEMBER!!!! AND HAPPY I FOUND A SITE LIKE THIS!

let me start like this. i dont know a heck of a lot about mods and what not. but i wanna get a civic in a year or so. then make some minor mods to it. my question is hydraulics. i live in toronto, weather sucks, and roads are pretty crappy too! i was wondering, is it possible to get hydraulics for a civic, like in the movie FF. this way if there are bad roads, or snow, i can simply raise or lower my car?

if so, please let me know if its a good idea or not. i heard things about it being a pain in the butt, and that hydraulics dry out and stuff... like i said i dont know a thing, so any input is appreciated.

thanks

nik

Forget the hydraulics and just get air bags, or air rods. Raise or drop your Civic with the flick of a switch. Plus its gets points at shows cause u can set the car all they way on the ground.

hey welcome scsikid, nice to see a fellow torontonian, by far the best city in the world.....hey, the weather's been great this winter, so don't complain....i've got a body kit and a 2 inch drop and have absolutely no problems in the snow.....if you want to go lower i suggest you get some real coilovers, ones that include the shock and the spring as one assembly...please do not buy sleave coilover's....coilovers will let you drop the car from .5 to 4 inches depending on the set......you can raise or lower your car as you wish...airbags are not a great ideal for everyday driving, they need alot of maintenance....even the least expensive coilovers will cost you about $1600.00 installed, right now..the price will come down as more sets are available.........hey, if you need more info on availability and stuff e-mail me at rebcrt@aol.com.....hope this helps...and enjoy the nice temp's were going to get for the rest of this week....it's summer man!!!!!
