actually, there is 1 way to avoid the flatbed.... if youre parked along a sidewalk, turn the steering wheel all the way to 1 side.

yeah only 2 ways to take the car with the immobilizer. get a key made at a dealership and come drive the car off, or have it towed.

then they use 1 or 2 floor jacks to lift front while the flat bed pulls car up onto bed. and jacks will roll with car stragith.

the only way they cannot take it without damage is if its in a garage, otherwise the options are almost endless

I had my immobilizer keep me from starting the car one day. Dunno why. It was a fluke thing. I pulled the key out, put it back in and it started fine.

you probably had it next to some other immoblizer key or something like coins, keys or a cell phone. those are some things that might possibly screw up the key temporarly

Or if you turn the car too quickly, it may not have fully detected the key signature yet. The manual says there's a slight delay for detection.

My nephews ITR Immobilzer was by-passed.. the alarm was blairing as he was looking out his bedroom window watching his baby being driven off. So no, the Immobilizer wont stop someone who knows WTF theyre doing.

The car won't start, so it does its job. That doesn't mean though that it can't get stolen, or probably worse, parts won't get stolen from it while its just sitting there.

It is a theft DETURANT. There is no way to PREVENT theft. If someone wants it bad enough, they will get it.
