braking problem...

hey guys, this only happen when im goin slow...bout 30k/h. whenever i apply my break to go slower i always hear like a high pitch thump sound comin from the front...
i went to the dealership about this 2 years ago, but they told me it was nothin...but at the time it wouldnt happen all the time. prolly 1 out of 10 evrytime i press on the brakes. but now it happens almost everytime.! and i cant go back to the dealership cuz my warranty is over.
mind you all, ive had the car for 4 years and never replaced my brake pads...and might change it sometime this month...pads i think are pretty worn out but im just wondering if anybody else had this prblem...or anyone has a different solution...thanks guys

luckily I havent had this problem, however the first thing i would do is inspect your pads first and if they are on their way out (which they sould be from what u told us) replace them so u can rule the pads out right away.

On a similar note of the thump sound, i had that happen to me as well but that was caused by a broken endlink but it didnt have a high pitch, just more of a thump..... come to think of it, maybe you have pads and a broken endlink.....lol....(prolly not), but yea, i would change the pads asap so you can at least rule it out. Hope this helps.

P.S. does the thump also happen when you are turning the steering wheel?

hey shifty, im guessing that hearing a thumping sound while turning the steering wheel was caused by a broken endlink>!?!?!
but i dont have this problem, so is it safe to say that i can rule out a broken endlink?!...and i just need to replace the pads...
btw how much would it cost you to get the broken endlink fixed?!...
thanx man

I just changed the broken endlink, but i think they are on their way out again so im might upgrade them to *ahem* Grey's endlinks....lol (If he still makes them). So since it doesnt make thumping noises when cornering i think you can rule out a broken endlink.

But yeah, i think the best thing for you to do is open her up and change your pads dude, shes due for new ones anyways. The only way to know if the pads will fix the problem if you actually change them....Once you change them then go from there
