Best setup for maximum resale.

Alright. In less than 4 months, I'm thinking about trading in my car for an SiR. The main reason is that they hold their value damn well. Now to get the maximum amount of $$$ for my Si, I'm planning on fixing it's current damage (been in an accident), and keeping it more or less stock. Here are my plans.

Chrome Projectors
Stock seats out of the SiR
Brand new wheels/tires off the SiR
Wings West Spoiler
Leave the Sony HU in
Put one of my 12W1s under the trunk floor (custom box)
Drive the sub with a small (100watt) amp, also under the floor.
Put in a cheap CAI or SRI

I think that should get me the most money for my Si, costing me almost nothing. Then I can do all the mods I was planning on the SiR. Second opinions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

One of our family friends is a jag dealer and when I was car shopping he said that when it comes to trading in a car it's best to keep the car as stock as possible. Things like a spoiler, stereo, suspension, etc... only mark up the value slightly if any at all. In some cases they actually detract from the value like adding a bodykit because it makes the dealer think the car was in a wreck at some point.

Hope that helps some.

Well the reason I'm thinking about the minor stereo upgrade's are, my old HU doesn't work for some odd reason, and I have a slightly damaged 12W1 that I could use under the floor, And I went to all the trouble of rewiring my audio stuff, and I don't really feel like taking all those wire's out. And i've got some cigarette burns in on my seats (from my friends, I don't even smoke ), so that's why I'm putting the SiR seats in (Plus I want Sparco's in my SiR).

If you are trading it in. Put it back to stock. You won't get anything extra for all the money you have put in it. Put all the mods up for sale, that should help pay for some of the mods for your new car.

I have to agree. If you are planning on TRADING it in...then you NEED to keep it as stock as possible. Keep the Head Unit for your next car or sell it out on the street...you will get more $$ for it than if you were to trade it in like that. Same goes for any other aftermarket parts Trust me, the more stock, the better. Tha way, the dealer doesn't think it's been messed with.

Well I was thinking of keeping the Si at first so I could sell it for a decent price. and just doin the SiR as a cash deal. And SiR rims are Identical to Si rims, so they'd just be brand new and flawless. Then I'd keep my old Si Rims as winter rims, and put TE-37s on the SiR.

I think that the BEST deal would be for you to give ME your Si as it sits...then you won't have to worry about what to do with it! Just a suggestion...trying to help out any way that I can!

lets just say it's a plus, and I've considered getting it for the engine, originality, etc even before I realized that it would be a better investment than my Si. Let's just say that the value is my excuse. I'm saving money right...
